Drudge also seems to be attempting to do the right thing lately.
Maybe dating Ann Coulter has helped.

Is anybody else listening? I think Mark is the most entertaining guest host so far.

I will let you know if she happens to come on within the next 20 to 30 minutes. I have to leave then.
I'll come back later and listen to the show and then post a transcript. I'll ping you with it.

Ann Coulter bump.
(You would have gotten more hits if you had put Ann's name on the head of this thread.)

He's pretty boring. He's giving the audience his opinions, which are not information.
The contrast with Rush couldn't be clearer.
Rush tells you how things are, and gives reasons for his view. If you oppose Rush, you have to prove that his reasoning is wrong, or that he is not telling the truth. Neither is possible, except in very rare cases. This drives the liberals up the wall.
Ann Coulter is similar to Rush in this way. But this Mark Belling guy, forget it.

Good lineup of guest hosts. When will Ann be asked?

I agree. No comparison. But I also like Sean Hannity who many people don't like.

I tuned out after his opening monologue when he said something like how conservatives tune in to hear the conservative take on that day's position on the issues. I listen to hear one's man's take on the issues, not a party or movement's take. There is plenty of dissention in FReeperland (besides just some libertarian disruption (that opposes conservativism, not all libertarian posters) and DUsrupters from the DirtyUnderwear site).
I was interested in hearing Ann Coulter's interview but I kept my radio on music instead.
It wasn't just his "day's talking points" bit, it was just the way he carried the show and his voice. Look, we're dittoheads and some are even news junkies. No need to talk down to the audience, just tell us what makes you as a new substitute qualified to host (a little about yourself) and get right down to it. I know those are some mighty boots to fill but just get on with it. Seemed like it was going to be dumbed down for first time listeners.
I may tune in another day and hear his coverage.

I think you put your finger on it.
I can tell that I'm getting information, not just opinion, when the time flies by, and time was not flying by as I listened to Belling. With Rush I have a hard time peeling myself away because I'm afraid I'll miss a useful argument or bit of info -- one that I can harass my liberal sparring partners with. But Belling spent the entire first hour speculating on the best course of action with North Korea, and he had a bunch of mediocre callers give their mediocre opinions on it. Who cares! It was a wasted hour: I left with nothing to show for it.
And you're right, Anne Coulter has the same X-factor that Rush has, which is that she is constantly putting arguments and information (which really go hand in hand -- information is only useful to the extent that it challenges or bolsters an argument, or leads to a new argument) on the table.

Where is Ann?
She's AWOL, and Belling, well, Belling's no Rush!

I don't know -- looks like she may have stood him up!
I only listened through half of the second hour and finally couldn't take any more. I wonder if she ever showed up? I'll bet not. If you're a half hour late, you'll probably be even later than that. She probably got hung up at the airport or something.
