Multilateral at last: But Bush critics still complain
Union Leader ^ | 10/20/03

PRESIDENT BUSH scored a significant diplomatic victory last week when the United Nations Security Council unanimously approved a resolution condoning the nation-building and security activities of the American-led "multinational force" in Iraq. But Bush's critics can't admit it. After months of whining that the United States did not have "international support" for its presence in Iraq, critics moved the goal posts last week after the U.N. resolution passed. Now, they say, the real test of international support is the dedication of foreign troops to Iraq.

They probably didn't read that the resolution "URGES member states to contribute assistance under this United Nations mandate, including military forces, to the multinational force. . . ."

Critics also claimed that the resolution was meaningless because other countries hadn't approved more money for Iraq. They probably didn't read that the resolution "CALLS UPON member states and concerned organizations to help meet the needs of the Iraqi people by providing resources necessary for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Iraq's economic infrastructure. . . ."

Bush's critics just can't accept that the President has more diplomatic skills than they had thought and that their view of him as a rich hick from Texas is not, and never was, accurate.

But Bush's critics can't admit it

Instead, they're gnashing their teeth, and yelling at each other "CRRAAPP!! He did it just like we demanded he do!"

their view of him as a rich hick from Texas

More and more of the rats are sensing that Bush has the skills to be elected again, and possibly bring a filabuster proof senate. And this makes them vicious and dangerous.

Yeah! Ain't it great!!

I don't care if they do raise the bar once again .. the American public sees what they're doing. Like Rush is always saying .. you cannot please these people no matter what you do, it will never be enough. The best thing to do is the right thing and just let the chips fall where they may.

I believe this victory at the UN was what caused Hillary to tell Teddy it was time for him to give the second scorching speech on the Senate floor - knowing the Bush-hating media would lap it up.

Hillary never pays attention to "the American public's" perception of what Teddy said. I don't think it's going over very well .. in fact it's backfiring .. just like it did with Graham and his "impeach Bush" garbage. I'm very curious what dirt Hillary has on Teddy and Bobby to force them to prostitute themselves in this disgusting manner.
