Do you mean another PCA'er? It's a great denomination. It's surprising how many of us pop up FR.

I'm a ROman Catholic who admires the PCA very much. You guys are orthodox and Pro-Life and the very best kind of Protestants. May more bridges be built between orthodox Christians in the Catholic Church and orthodox Christians in denominations like PCA.

Actually I am OPC presumptive, The two are apparently very similar. Just nice to see more Reformed folks around. If (when?) I move, a good OPC or PCA is what I want to find.

Thanks. I have trouble understanding most denominational disputes. If folks would just read the Bible, the proper manner of teaching in a Christian Church is really quite clear on almost all important subjects. Most reform congregations (like CalRepubGal's OPC and my PCA, and, though I know less about it, orthodox Romans) come to much the same place, with minor differences because of this.

You have to stretch and strain to rationalize most of the modern heresies. And, at heart, the heretics know they must reject explicit parts of the Scriptures to justify their behavior. That's why they are heretics, no?

It's not that God couldn't change things if He wanted to--after all, Christ was a huge change in the relationship of man and God. But Christ said his was the final covenant.

So before I believe that God has decided to make homosexual acts OK, I would want to hear a lot more evidence of such a change than 'Mrs.' Robinson's belief that God is urging him/her to become a bishop.

Something on the line of his death and resurrection might make me take a second look at the subject--something I'm not expecting or hoping for anytime soon.

Well, I used to be a CalRepubGuy. If you decide to move to Colorado, let me know and my wife and I will have you over for dinner and introduce you around. Jefferson County (the western suburbs of Denver) is loaded with great, bible based churches. I meet Christians everywhere I go who aren't afraid to talk about it. It's a really nice change from LA and Oakland.

One cool thing I saw Sunday (played tourist after church and visited Old Town which includes a very nice 19th century RC Church) was the prolife literature in the narthex (think that is the name of the area just inside the main doors of the church). I think that would be interesting and beneficial.

Thanks for the offer! Serious question: how are housing costs and jobs out there? I had friends who lived off I-570 (I think) and loved the area. ;-)

Housing is really cheap compared to Calif. You can get a nice, big house in a nice suburb for $250,000. I couldn't touch my house in LA or the Bay Area for less than $375-$400.

Jobs are dicier, depending on what you do. Tech is still slow because the Telecoms took such a hit in the Clinton recession. If you are a senior Telecom marketing official, and have a job, I'd say stay where you are for a while :)

St Francis of Assisi (near us) has a large vacant tract across the street from their church. Each year, for about a week, they have a display of 400 crosses with a sign that memorializes the 4,000 children killed by abortion every day. I have a hard time driving by it.

Interestingly, it has never been defaced, which would have happened almost immediately where I used to live in California.

I am quite thankful that the Senate voted to outlaw late term abortions today.

It is a step in the right direction. Continue to pray for our nation, that we will come to our senses.
