Those who stand Vigil have asked that a Prayer Thread for Terri Schiavo be started for any wishing to comfort and encourage Terri's family and friends and those who have labored on her behalf. Another Vigil will be held at 1:00 p.m. today at the Woodside Hospice, and another will be held at 3:00 p.m. today in front of the White House, through the efforts of an organization for the disabled.

One of our traveling FReepers is now at the Vigil and has met with Terri's family and speaks of their enormous grief. Terri's mom has been given some lotion, which she will use to tend Terri's feet. Prayers posted will be printed and given to Bob and Mary Schindler and their son and daughter ~ may they find some measure of comfort in our words.

great, what church do you go to? I mean it makes sense to me to start with your own church...

I am eastern Orthodox so I went to our parish directory online and got the phone number of every Orthodox church in Florida, and I am calling each one early tomorrow morning.

I will ask them to call members and everyone to call the number(s) on the link Here.

You can print that page out and keep it handy in case someone you call doesn't know the number but they hopefully know which district they are in, if not they should know the county they live in! :-)

Then you can tell them to ring the phones like mad. It seems worth a try to me.

Nope, will probably be at Free Republic as usual. That, a little DU for "troll hunting" purposes and and some of the "tin foil hat" sites usually comprise most of my internet time and my profession (independent programmer) also pretty much keeps me at the computer most of the time.
However I am very restricted in my movements at this time and can not attend any vigils or other FReeping events related to this if that's what you are thinking.

Oops, they pulled the thread after I had already e-mailed all the Florida Senators. LOL I hope the thread was correct. This is what I sent.

I am not from Florida but the fate of Terri Schiavo is a concern for the whole country. It is one thing for someone to be taken off of artificial life supports and a whole other thing to allow someone to starve to death. I don't know what you can do about this but I'm asking you to do the right thing and support life.

The restrictions I refered to also would pretty much rule out direct phone calling but e.mails might be a possibility.

I confess confusion, Lord, and pray that we not be misled, for You are not the author of confusion. Carry Terri through these conflicting hours and sustain us as we seek the truth, in the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...

The other thread was pulled because the press release has not been verified at this time.

I believe this is the answer to our prayers, and I believe it is going to happen, but it is not verifiable yet. Use care when calling to get the word out as the press release was calling for.

I would be particularly interested in e.mailing anyone in authority to make this a CRIMINAL CASE NOW. As you probably know by now that has been somewhat of a personal crusade of mine in this matter. Is that where you are comming from with these phone calls?

Coral Ridge Presbyterian is in Ft Lauderdale. It's PCA
D. James Kennedy is Pastor. Very Pro-Life and family oriented.

There are a lot of Churches in our denonmination there in Fl.

Father, I continue to lift Terri before You. Lord, I am still of the belief that we are entering the days where we will see Your wonderous Glory manifested on this earth as never witnessed before. You have promised us such as a sign of our returning King, Your Son, Jesus. Heavenly Father, I do not have the gift of eloquence as many of my beloved brothers and sisters here do. But I thank You that You have called such wonderful and loving people together in faith for a young lady in Florida.

Jesus, I ask that You would increase in us so that we may increase in Your love. Not just for Terri, as it is easy to love her seeing her precious smile and it is easy to fight for her knowing the injustice that is being perpetrated upon her. But, give us love for those who are in such desperate need for it Lord. Namely, those who have maligned this precious woman. Those who are our enemies.

Lord, I come to you reminding you of Your word. You said that if You be lifted up You would draw all men unto You. Precious Savior, I ask that by the power of Your Holy Spirit, by whom all things are done, that you would pierce the darkness of their hearts with Your revealing light. I ask for mercy upon them Father. As hard as it is for me, us, to understand or fathom, as Your love is deeper than man can comprehend, I know that you desire to see them saved. It is not your will that anyone perish. Draw them unto you Father and reconcile them to You that they may find relationship with Your Son who died for their sins.

Father, I ask for favor in tomorrow's session. May Your presence be in that room among the leaders of the sate of Florida. May Your Holy spirit be there to minister the "right thing" to each of those participating. I ask for unity among party lines. A divine unity Lord. Visit them tonight Lord as they prepare to make this decision.

Lord, most of all I praise you and thank you for yoking us together here for Terri. That your people, from all denominations, have come together for this woman is a testament to Your word that tells us we are of One faith.

All of these things I ask in the mighty name of Your Son, Jesus. I give you all the glory and honor and praise. Amen...

We continue in prayer, Father, and ask that You give wisdom and direction to the ones who brought us such good news about Terri's Bill ... may they soon know if this is to be a part of the session or if we're in the realm of speculation. We look to You, for You are Truth, and we look to You, Father, as we continue to seek Terri's release, that she might thrive once again with those who love her. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...

Forgive us our sins, bind us in our love and hope for Terri's future here on earth, comfort and stregthen her parents and siblings, shower your mighty power upon this sad situation and work Your awesome will. Grant us the wisdom to understand Your will and to work towards that end.

Father we are pleading for Terri and her parents. Our hearts are heavy with the knowledge that Terri hungers and thirsts, that her parents are filled with unbearable feelings of helplessness. Mend this situation to Your will, Father.

I also ask you for JUSTICE for the people responsible for bringing her to the condition that she is currently in. I can see by what is happening now in this country that your judgement is now upon it and I pray we can yet limit it to the perpetrators of this crime against your creation humanity and bring revival and releaf from Satan's death culture to us again
