Manny Ramirez, who took his Dad to a WS game, mistakes a beach ball for a bean ball and rushes the pitchers mound. Fortunately, he rushes the mound with the same enthusiasm he runs the bases after hitting a homer, and does not actually reach the mound until mid-way through Spring Training.
Jason Giambi keeps hitting away...for a while. Giambi hits for the cycle in games 1,2,6 & 7, but never gets on base in Miami.
Steve Bartman, who has recently moved to Florida, figures interfering with fouls isn't good enough anymore and runs out onto the field to perform an unassisted triple play against the Marlins (who he is now rooting for). None of the umps notice.
Derek Jeter is injured in another aggressive play at 3rd when a large white tiger attacks him as he attempts to slide in. He's knocked out of the rest of the WS, but the attack permanently heals his shoulder w/o the surgery he was expecting in the off-season. He comes back next year healthier than ever, breaks .400, hits 55 homers and out fields even A-Rod and Tori Hunter combined.
Doctors, impressed with the white tigers surgical skills, offer it a teaching position @ Johns Hopkins University. The tiger agrees as long as he's allowed to eat any med-students that fail.
Joe Torre, needing another fielder with as much fire in his belly as Jeter, puts in Don Zimmer. Amazingly, Zimmer has a 1.000 fielding % for the rest of the series and hits for the cycle in game 6. Zimmer is awarded a 'special WS Gold glove' for his phenomenal play on the field.
Torre, needing a new Bench-coach, picks the Girl Scouts of America, wisely realizing that keeping the players full of 'Thin-mints' will enable him concentrate on what's going on in the field.
Jeter, being out for the series, invites Nomah down to Miami for 'some serious drinking and partying'. The 2 SS's attempt to out drink Miami, but are falling seriously behind. Boomer jumps in to save the day. The 3 of them easily put the city of Miami under the table. Boomer goes on to pitch a perfect game only 2 hours later. Unfortunately, all of Miami sleeps through the spectacular performance.
Game 7. An incredibly frustrated Boone has been benched after failing to get on base 26 times in a row. Bottom of the 27th inning, with both teams exhausted and out of pitchers, Boone, who had replaced Sierra (because of injury) who had been a pinch hitter for Rivera, who had been a pinch runner for Garcia, who had replaced Wilson who was a defensive substitution for Erik Almonte, who had replaced Nick Johnson after he got stuck in the dug-out bathroom, who was filling in for David Deluci. Boone, who had struck out 26 times in a row, comes up for his 27th plate appearance in the series. Nomah, tells Boone 'Just wait for the ghosts to come out' while he's walking to the batter's box. I'll let you figure out the rest.
G.S. has 2 extra WS rings cast. Giving one each to Paydro and Manny, G.S. announces we could have never made it into the W.S. without the efforts of these two. Paydro and Zim are tied for WS MVP votes and share the honor. It remains proudly posted in their Montana dojo to this day.
G.S., getting on in years and somewhat daft, offers Zimmer a 9 year, 140 million dollar contract. Zimmer accepts and wins Gold Glove awards as center fielder, right fielder and catcher after Bernie and Jorge retire. He goes on to hit above .400 3 times. He, Jeter and A-Rod rotate for the batting championship, each player getting the Triple Crown at least once.
