Oh yes, Mr. Hamm. Finally Nomar Hitts is a traditional shortstop.
Other than Game 6 of the ALCS, Nomar came up Sorry-&*^hole.

Well, I'm only looking at the bottom line and it looks pretty good right now. He's avoided the big mistake, and he's gotten out of jams. He's given up a run in 5 innings - I consider that a great effort.

Just some rough math on my part, but Pedro hit a guy every 21 innings where Roger hit a guy every 30 innings.
To: F16Fighter
Maybe we'll trade Soriano for one of the pitchers Steinbrenner foolishly let go. The Andy Claussen deal irked me.
Kaz will be a great pick-up.

"You don't think they look confused out there? Wassup with Boone's throw to first? And that game-opening bunt?"Well, "confused" is a bit different than "stunned." Actually they look like a team who's sleep-walking literally and figuratively, don't they?
Boone?? The guy still thinks it's Thursday.
To: FlJoePa
Yeah, some pitchers can get away with a high batting average against, because they manage to spread those hits around. Other guys have a low batting average against, but give up home runs after walks, or a few hits in a row.

Boone still thinks he's in Cincinnati.
The one time he doesn't swing late on a pitch, wins a pennant.
Lucky won't keep him in pinstripes.

IMO, Penny's stats belie what I see -- he has appeared VERY hittable. Had this been the Bosox lineup, I'd venture to say he'd have been knocked out after 3 innings.
To: F16Fighter
Half of them are still hungover, probably. And Wells always is.
