From Fox News:"Whoever left the bags on planes in Houston and New Orleans left notes that said the writer was concerned about security on airplanes. It is unclear when the bags were left on the planes."Just sounds to me that someone had way too much time on thier hands.

The extra details make it sound more like a journalist trying to make a point than a terrorist plot.
Clay might be a clumsy attempt at fake plastic explosives (though marsipan, which, I am told smells like one variety of plastique would have been a better test).
Either that or al Qaeda has been (alas most likely only temporarily) reduced to cheap scare tactics as a replacement for full blown terrorism in North America.

BBC is reporting a NOTE accompanied the box cutters and "mock explosives"..

You know, recently three fisherman accidentally breached security at JFK Airport and wandered around for over an hour. So you cant say "Only cleared-profiled CITIZENS"

Freepers called it first...almost a year ago now.
WE DO REMEMBER the Arab gentleman who attempted to board a plane with 33 razors hidden upon him.
Freepers speculated then that he was placing them for future terrorists.
Looks like this is exactly what has been done to Southwest.
