After the initial thread was pulled I dared to post another vanity:
How free is Free Republic? Which subjects are too hot, too inane, too uncomfortable, too nonsensical for the moderators to allow us to discuss? I've posted since 1999 without incident until tonight, so I want to know, what is free for discussion at Free Republic and what is not free for discussion. I understand that I don't have to visit this site, or post, or care, and that it is privately owned and can be run however Jim wishes. But I do wonder what subjects and which personalities are taboo. So I am asking you, the latenight freeper, what should we be free to discuss?
Of course this resulted in the suspension of my posting privileges.
So go ahead and pull this thread and suspend my posting privileges. It won't matter, I, like so many before me, won't be back.

Well, at least the title, about "shameless vain vanity" was correct.
You left out "redundant and boring" in the title, though.
Another guy I've never heard of calls attention to the fact that he's leaving.....yawn

I had commented a week earlier to my wife that Rush sounded drunk. I meant that he sounded a little slurry, and a little like an excited drunk raving on about a sports team or something.
I didn't realize that there might be more to it.

Get over yourself!
Your thought didn't deserve it's own thread. It belonged on one of the other discussion threads.
Everyone can't be posting new threads for every thought they have!
Participate in an existing thread!

I really didn't see anything offensive in either your original post or this one. Having said that, this is where I add the obligatory comment "this-is-Jim's-site-and-it's-a-privilege-to-post-here."

"I, like so many before me, won't be back." Does this mean you won't be participating in this thread?
Although I think your thought that Rush's program could be affected by his addiction is valid enough.

Criticism of Rush here at FR is frowned on ... going back a few years, I posted something along the line that Rush was enunciating poorly during his radio program. That brought on a storm of denials by FReepers. Rush is without doubt the best spokesman for conservative values, so I understand it when FReepers get defensive. However, I listen to Rush frequently enough to know that he really isn't a fan of FR ... in fact he treats FR like we're a nut case relative. So, I guess my point is ... why do FReepers get so worked up when it comes to criticism of Rush? Some of it is justified and most of it is merely expressing an observation.

Is their a point to this stupid thread? Is it a vain, attempt at a pat on the back - such as I KNEW before Rush announced his prescription drug problem BEFORE anyone else? I'm soooo observant? Whatever the childish reason this thread needs to be deleted as well. What a vain bore you are, goliath. You are a small, vain minded imbecile.

So, you were right. It happens.
I have predicted the winners in several Super Bowls. You don't see me posting a vanity about it expecting others to bask in my reflective glory.

I suppose you had valid points, but they probably belonged under another thread. Get over yourself.
Lousy opus btw, but don't let that hold you back from leaving. Come again when you can't stay so long.
