It's nice to see an article in the mainstream press explaining something in the Christian realm and actually having it make sense and not be demeaning. Our church (CCV-Phoenix, AZ) started this campaign last weekend and so far the daily readings are inspiring. Our small group had our first meeting focusing on "Why are we here" and the discussion was dynamic. Hopefully, those involved in reading, discussing and applying the principles of this campaign will discover that our lives are supposed to have purpose and that we will only be fulfilled when we know that purpose and get involved in our lives.

``Use it to benefit others. Remember, it's not about you.''

When people want someone else to give them a purpose, there's always someone out there more than happy to do it--for $19.95.

You can be a Christian and a capitalist at the same time. Note, he isn't taking commissions on church sales.

Just being alive and well is a reward some people ask to mush out of life.

Render unto Caesar is part of life (unfortunately). This book is about the other part.

I read the book. I can testify to how fantastic it is. I recommend it for anyone. It's not just for Christians. I first heard it about when my sister-in-law gave it as a birthday present to my non-Christian brother.

I recommend it for anyone. It's not just for Christians.

Thanks for the recommendation.

That's an interesting point...but we don't have a "Caesar" (yet) to render unto.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on The Purpose Driven Life. Indeed, it's not just for Christians. . . it's for anyone who is searching for purpose and meaning to their life. Rick Warren wrote the book for anyone and everyone to read and reflect upon. It's easy to read and a very engaging book.

Glad to hear that giving the book as a gift got you - in due time - to read it. Neat!

"Some critics call it fast-food Christianity - a quick-fix approach for broken or lost spirits."

The critics don't seem to care about what's good about the individual; instead, it's all about innuendo and lies.

``If God gives you influence, you shouldn't use it for your own benefit,'' he says. ``Use it to benefit others. Remember, it's not about you.''

This should be mandatory reading for the Clintons.
