Terrorists attack J&K CM residence, gunfight on

SRINAGAR : Militants on Friday attacked the residence of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at the high-security Maulana Azad road in Srinagar .

According to reports a militant hurled a grenade at the newly-constructed residence at around 10 a.m. and tried to storm into the house.

Reports said the Chief Minister was not in the house office when the militants attacked.

Heavy gunfight is being reported from all sides outside the chief minister’s house.

Three BSF personnel have been injured in the gunfight .

According to reports people have been evacuated from the area.

Eyewitnessess said a huge explosion was heard in front of the chief minister's house followed by a heavy firing.

One of the attackers reportedly escaped into the Ali Jaan shopping complex which is opposite the CM's residence.

More details awaited.
