JACKSONVILLE, FL -- It was video of a moment between a daughter and mother that made up Dr. Jacob Green's mind.
"She turned to her mom, responded to mom in the room, there was no doubt this woman had minimal but definite cognizant function, she was not in a vegetative state," says Dr. Green.
Green is a neurologist. Studying the brain is what he does everyday.
About a year ago, he was asked by Terri Schiavo's parents for his opinion on whether or not their daughter was brain dead.
"She's alive....there's no question in my mind she is not brain dead."
Green sent his decision to the courts. He says he is shocked the courts have ruled there is no hope for Schiavo and allowed the only thing needed to keep her alive, her food tube, to be removed.
"I'll call it murder because what they're doing is taking away any chance," says Green.
For some, they say this is a chance to make sure it doesn't happen to them.
Or in Terri Schiavo's case, Dr. Green says, "This woman is not on a respirator, this woman has function, cutting her off is wrong, without question, it is the wrong thing to do."

Why would Hillary Clinton give a care about it?
No, I'm not being sarcastic.
Bushie the Spineless will never be president. He's alienating his constuency like they're going out of business. And they are.
The more he panders to the interests who will never vote for him, the more he abandons those who have voted for him, the more he ensures a boycott on election day.
And please, none of that business about how not voting will only help the other side.
Frankly, I don't give a damn. And why should I? After all, if "my side" implements the abominations that the "other side" could only dream of trying, who's kidding who?
The second American civil war: what it's about
This is appearantly the first part of a two part post according to the attached article. Maybe the second part will deal with the Death Culture.
Maybe it has even already started. These "hospices" are already beginning to look a lot like a modern day ELMYRA or ANDERSONVILLE aren't they!!!!
Guns, Linux and Liberty. ;c)

MarMema, I love you, so please understand when I say that my heart aches when I hear you say this! Although it may be going that way, and things have been on the downturn for a while, I still love the state of my birth. It is the home of most of the rest of my family, still. Florida was not always like this. It was a state that had a spot for some liberals, mostly moderates, and plenty of conservatives when I grew up. It is filled with a lot of people now who came after Disney set up shop. They love the weather and the laid back attitude, but they don't know that state was built on the backs of a lot of good, hard-working Americans, many very humble people. It tears me apart that this is going on in Florida, but you have helped make me aware that this kind of thing is going on in every state of our country. It makes my heart bleed for all of America, too. Sometimes I wonder if we aren't the great satan that other countries seem to view us as. I just had to tell you how this is tearing good people apart, so please, don't urge this shame on. It's horrible enough as it is.
To what extent is the problem the state or its laws, and to what extent is the problem Judge Greer?
Fundamentally, what's happening is that Judge Greer has declared that the evidence he's been shown indicates that the legal requirements for killing Terri have been met, and appeals courts have been required to accept Greer's findings of fact.
To be sure, things could be patched somewhat by putting in certain explicit evidentiary standards, but a corrupt judge and attourney would be able to work around almost any standard that might be set. What's needed is a means by which appeals courts can feel confident setting aside judicial fundings of fact in cases where evidence proves beyond a reasonable doubt that they are just plain wrong. Jury findings of fact cannot be so treated because of constitutional issues, but I know of nothing that makes judicial findings of fact sacred.
I AM RESPONDING: So do I. Her "GOD-husband" has just waited a little longer than usual!!!
Are there any other neurologists speaking out about Terry's case??
"I'll call it murder because what they're doing is taking away any chance," says Green.
