A look at the NFL's official website shows us that after five games, Donovan McNabb's quarterback rating is 54.2. He is the LOWEST rated quarterback in the league. I guess Rush was right about him being overrated! By the way, Steve McNair is the highest rated quarterback, and for those of you that don't know, Mr. McNair is also black. So I think Rush was only partially right about the liberal media's desire for a black quarterback to succeed -- they only want the right black quarterback to succeed. Why is Steve McNair, the highest rated quarterback in the league, not praised more by the liberal media??? --Tim http://www.timmontrose.com

Because Steve McNair just goes out and does his job and is not a hot dog. My kids and I met him in San Antonio during training camp when it was his second year in the league -- the man is a class act all the way and doesn't crave the spotlight.

It's obvious to me that if McNabb didn't have to face the hate-filled racist rant from Rush, he'd be doing much better, and in fact the NFL should take that into account when compiling so-called "quarterback rankings" which are code-words for black oppression and are tantemount to a 21st century high-tech lynching.
How many points should a man get for 400 years of slavery and bigotry?

I think Rush was talking specifically about the Philadelphia Press. Perhaps, in some other cities, they are less prone to letting race color the coverage. And I seem to remember that McNair, in his first few years in the league was described more in terms of his potential than his play.
As a Philadelphian, I will add that McNabb is being mercilessly whipped by the press for the current level of play and it might be appropriate to call that Limbaugh backlash.

You know, before all this started, I never really noticed the number of commercials/endorsements McNabb was making. Soup, VISA cards, DirecTV/Sunday Ticket, you name it. Now, when I see him in a commerical, I ask myself "Why?"
Is he the best quarterback in the NFL? (From the above article, apparently not.)
Is he the most popular quarterback in the NFL?
Or is there another reason I don't know about?

Joe Camel. Need I explain?
Well, it was a rhetorical question, though I'm not sure what cigarettes have to do with it. ;)
