[history]
It is a lonely place to die, out in the soft sandy washes. The desert floor, with its volcanic rock, can reach 160 degrees. Most people go down slowly.
Blood starts to seep into the lungs. Exposed skin burns and the sweat glands shut down. Little hemorrhages, tiny leaks, start in the heart.

You would recognize the distinction between a non-violent invader and a violent one right? No, I don't.

Before crossing the boarder illegal immigrates could use this book. However, reading English first would help.

Then you are definately beyond help.Well, you know what they say about opinions.
I hope that your daughter's (if you have one) 9-year-old friend never stops by your house unannounced. She'll get blown away! (for being an invader...)
Again, an asinine analogy.

Where were these stories when boat people from Vietnam or Cuba were drowning or dying of exposure in their leaky boats?
At least those people weren't breaking American law. No one wants this kind of senseless tragedy, but look to the cause. We are not going to simply invite all Mexicans to "come on down", are we?
Or maybe we are.

My daughter's playpartner didn't invade my country. The illegal did.

Thanks for the corroboration. Your experience matches mine, although mine is second-hand. I know the local Sheriff.
I'm afraid the rest of the thread has degenerated, though...

She didn't invade my property. As a friend of my daughter, she is always welcome.
I define invasion as the illegal crossing of my country's borders by individuals or groups.

You mean like the patient I just saw at the hospital who couldn't get service because the lady at the front desk didn't speak any Spanish/Mexican?
BTW, I happen to agree with you.

May I ask you a question relevant to but aside from your discussion with RD?
What do you call 3 groups of from 30-40 illegals being pushed across the border ahead of a fourth group of drug-runners?
For background, if it isn't obvious, the idea is to tie up the BP so that the drug smugglers can cross safely.

Again, it is simply my opinion. I think of it more as a deterrent than as punishment. If we were to militarize our borders with orders to shoot after giving a warning, I believe that illegal immigration would suddenly be less attractive. Perhaps then they would choose to immigrate legally.

Even then you would wind up shooting some non-violent people.Only if they ignored the warning shot, at which point they become Darwin Award winners...

Would the Macarena be appropriate? No, just the Snoopy Happy Dance.
