Which *LAW,* PoohBah? G-d's or man's?
In either case, you HAVE read the Preamble. We are endowed by OUR CREATOR with the right to LIFE, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, right? Or is that only for those who are more equal than others?

PS. If it is alright for a governor to overturn the death sentences of convicted murderers, why can't the death sentence of an innocent be overturned?

That isn't in the Preamble, that's the Declaration of Independence.

Nope. But to demand that others risk prison to do your bidding is not courageous.

The declaration of independence was a revolutinary document and doesnt carry any weight of law. The constitution is the basis of our laws.

BTW, God's law doesnt trump state law.
