When did she speak? I mean, a coherent word?Terri tries to speak. You can hear this on some of the videos on her website.
If you have not done so already, check those videos here, under the section titled AudioVisual Files. You will hear Terri trying to vocalize on some on them.
Make sure you watch the first video, at the very least, titled "Big Eyes." I've linked it here: Big Eyes
Be patient when you watch this video. It takes Terri maybe about 20 seconds to respond to a doctor's command. But she does!
Tell me, after watching this video, that Terri is not awake, aware, and desperately trying to show her will to live.

When did she speak? I mean, a coherent word? Hildy, it is my understanding that she has tried to say " Yes, and No"....and as far as speaking, our 25 year old disabled son has only been able to make sounds indicating what he wants. I can tell you that WE, as HIS PARENTS, know exactly what he wants when he makes the sounds.

At first, none of my kids spoke coherent words but we were able to teach them. Terri at least deserves a chance to try again.

Aahh, so all people with Cerebral Palsy, or deafmute, or otherwise handicapped should be killed? No, I don't think Nazi is too strong a word. The Nazi's killed those who they didn't think were worth living. This is in effect what those who think she should die because she can't communicate like you and I.

Only speaking people have value? Have you ever met a handicapped person before?
