"What is happening" is everyone is getting involved in something they have no control over.

It sells radio space, news papers and leaves the general populace feeling miserable, as there is absolutely nothing they can do about it.

Let's go on to things we may be able to do something about, like the 43,000 people who die in the U.S. each year from automobile accidents, or the 14,175 (2001) persons who died from aids/hiv.

You never know how the power of the power of positive thinking will play out. It gathers its own energy. It may not save Terri but perhaps the next victim will be spared.

The case of Terri Schiavo has huge implications especially for anyone living in Florida.

Everyone has a right to choose what to speak up about!

Driving drunk is the main cause of fatal accidents. Many are trying to stop that!

You think you have some control over that? LOL!

You say we have no control in this situation. I say we more control over this situation then we do of the statistics you just cited.

Can you not grasp the far-reaching effects this has, the potential for it to be a landmark case in the fight FOR euthanasia?

You say nothing can be done - I bet lots of Germans said that when their Jewish friends and neighbors were taken away. Those same Germans were no doubt a little taken aback when they came for the old, disabled, disfigured and mentally impaired.

Do you not see where this is all going? What's that old adage...they came for the Jews, Christians, I said nothing etc...then they came for me.

You said in a later post that the rule of law was followed. Just because it is law, doesn't mean it is right. Slavery was once legal. Abortion is legal now. If tomorrow a law was passed saying that it's ok to euthanize anyone over 65, anyone who can't feed themselves, anyone who can't recite the alphabet, run a mile, would that be ok because it is law?

You also asked if posters would be willing to pay her hospital bills. That's a moot point. First of all the hospice where she stays hasn't been paid a thing (probably because the husband's lawyer was a board chairman there), and also, her parents have said that they will pay for any care she needs, they just want to take her home.

Do nothing? Resign ourselves to the inevitable? I guess this country is run by a few judges then. So much for we the people.

How bout we give the pro-homosexual propaganda a rest, eh? AIDS already gets 2.5 billion (beelyion) dollars a year for something that affects only a relative few, and is caused primarily by sexual immorality in the first place.

The point here is that even if you don't give a sh!t about Terri, the precedent this is setting is that people can get rid of inconvenient disabled relatives solely based on their own prejudices and desires, without any consideration of the patient's wishes or their civil rights. This action needs to be protested and protested vigorously -- society has no right to arbitrarily terminate those that cannot defend themselves.

Though I wish she could live because I'd love to see what a year of love and Occupational Therapy could do for her, I understand that God may be calling her home, and her rest will be well deserved. Being disabled, and/or being elderly, are not for wimps.

Aids cure is the same as all other veneral disease : marital fidelity and no sex outside of marriage. In a generation it would be gone.

People die in car accidents and other accidents because a person made a bad decision.

The number who die in ABORTION clinics overshadows all other single causes:30 million and counting in the US alone.
