Siegfried & Roy Update: Attack Videotaped

It has been confirmed that the tiger attack on Roy Horn during the Mirage Casino's Siegfried & Roy show was captured on videotape. The Mirage's former owner, Steve Wynn, spoke out about the tragedy in a heated exchange on MSNBC.

"The cat was distracted by a lady with a big brown hairdo that was sitting by the ringside," Wynn said.

"But surely this wasn't the first woman with a big bouffant hairdo who had been sitting in the front row at this show?" countered MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer.

"In order to know what makes a white tiger look to his right instead of straight ahead, you'd have to ask the tiger, wouldn't you?" retorted Wynn.

"Well, now that would just be silly, wouldn't it?" quipped Brewer.

Steve Wynn insisted that the white tiger, Montecore, was confused when he picked Roy Horn up with his teeth and carried him backstage.

"There was no shaking or violence to indicate that the cat was trying to kill Roy. I looked at Roy's neck and there isn't a scratch on it except for the two puncture wounds where he picked him up," said Wynn.

Meanwhile, more controversy brewed as PETA lead a quiet protest in front of the Mirage, asking Siegfried & Roy to release the animals. Outside the hospital, fans continued to lead prayer vigils for Roy.

Access Hollywood has learned that Roy has had four operations, been resuscitated twice, and is paralyzed on his left side. For now, the tiger remains quarantined at the casino.

The attack may have been videotaped but until it is screened, there is nothing to confirm or deny Steve's comments about a big haired lady distracting the tiger.

There was a report on FR by an eyewitness that there was no audience distraction, and the problem began when Roy dropped the chain that he used to lead the tiger.

Exactly where do they want these things released? Maybe their offices??

The information from Siegfried, from the stagehands, from everyone that was really there,

was that Roy slipped, and fell off the stage. The cat picked him up to put him back on the stage. As the audience started to sense something wrong, their noise increased, their 'fear smell' increased, and the cat carried Roy backstage behind the curtains, trying to protect him from the audience. The cat had no idea it's teeth were puncturing Roy's skin on his neck and puncturing the artery.

The story about the woman with the big hair, I never heard from the Owner of the Mirage. I think the MEDIA screwed up again. It may have stemmed from the idea that ROY was distracted by the cat's movement towards the woman, or Roy was distracted by the woman, but, either way, something caused him to lose focus on where he was and lose his footing.

What no one has considered yet is that ROY may have had a slight stroke, causing him to fall, and that the Cat puncturing his artery caused the massive blood loss, which just added to the complications and confused diagnosis of a stroke.

Now that PETA has gotten their asses into the mix, all attempts to clarify the details of this accident may get lost.
