Post responses on this thread. Do or die for the Marlins. Break the Curse and Go to the Series or sink into ignominy for yet another year for the Cubbies.
Which will it be? Quien es mas macho?
Remember, Obey the Billygoat.....

Okay, folks, this is it. For all the freaking marbles. Do or die tonight at 7:45 Eastern from the friendly confines of Wrigley Field.
Post comments and reactions, pre-game, during the game, and post-game, here.

Little Stevie better hope Wood gets the Cubbies a win or he'll have to move.
To: section9
Too early for it to be in breaking. I'll put it there closer to game time.
To: section9
Cubs 5, Marlins 2
Wood goes 7.1
Remlinger with the Hold
Borowski closes it out.

The seat was gifted to President bush so liberals can blame him if the cubs lose.

How good of a day do you think ol'
Steve had? I feel bad for him. It looked foul. He should have paid better attention but it turned out to be the turning point of the whole game. :-(

Yah, okay. Might as well leave it up on the regular threads, though so people can do their pregame thing.
Oh, just to let everyone know. Marlins 3, Cubs 1.
Death rides a pale billygoat...

Cubs will get blanked tonite. They can not handle the pressure. They will be cursed as long as the Daley family runs Chicago.

I'm going to provide a live stream to Hank Goldberg's show on WQAM here in Miami. He's got some of the best commentary on tonight's game from a Marlin's p.o.v..
Hank says that the Cubbies suffer from "here we go again" syndrome. Still, the Cubs stand as a 2-1 favorite for tonight's game.
WQAM 560, Miami
Everybody is rooting against the Marlins, tonight. Everybody wants them to lose to the beloved Cubbies.
Fortunately for us, the Marlins have the Billygoat on their side....
Be Seeing You,
Chris

It looked foul.Fair or foul had NOTHING to do with the issue. Fan inteference concerns whether the fan reached onto the playing field (fair or foul) and intefered with the player making the catch. It appears that he did intefere, but umpires rarely call inteference by a home team fan.
To: Onelifetogive
So the outfielder would have caught a foul ball and made the out.. looked to me like he would have caught it, anyway. But if the only criteria for fan interference is the fan entering the playing field, then they were right not to call it. Right?

fan entering the playing fieldOr reaching onto the playing field. The critical line is the edge of the bleachers. It was very close...but it does seem that he did reach onto the field.
To: lainie
My heart goes out to him. If he had "done" it to a team with a winning tradition rather than one of perpetually losing, it likely would have been regarded as just another foul ball by the team on the field, as well as their fans.
If not for him, I'd love to see the Cubs lose 19-0 tonight. Then again, why not? He need only move a few hours to the SW, and live out his life in St. Louis (a real baseball town).

(Last time the Cubs won it all, Wrigley Field did not exist. Radio hadn't been invented. ...)

What I would give for a zoom shot from along the foul line. It sure looks like that hand was all the way over the wall despite the protestations of MLB and the media (the former to save their own reputation, the latter to save Idiot Nonsavant's life).
