We had a ped doc on this afternoon on our local talk radio here in Memphis...he said they did this when he was a intern at one of the local hospitals to a baby.. the baby cried and cried he was so long hungry...they finally put him back on the feeding tubes as the medical staff couldn't stand it any more.

I'm told starvation is very painful and agnoizing. My mother was in advanced stages of Alzheimers and we family members faced having to decide when to let her go.
I studied some information and decided they'd have to pull her tube over MY dead body. Fortunately, she died of pneumonia and we didn't have to come to that crossroad...
