I'm told starvation is very painful and agnoizing. My mother was in advanced stages of Alzheimers and we family members faced having to decide when to let her go.

I studied some information and decided they'd have to pull her tube over MY dead body. Fortunately, she died of pneumonia and we didn't have to come to that crossroad...

My mom died of cancer a few years ago. She weighed about 168 when she was told she had it. She did hospice as the cancer was to wide spread. She weighed about 90 lbs when she died. In the end she could barely swallow. We feed her Slimfast as she hated that aweful tasting Ensure they wanted her to use.

She left written instructions on DO NOT RESUSITATE if she stopped breathing. None of us thought about starving her to death. We tried every thing we could to entice her to eat. Ending up with the Slimfast as a last resort as she would take it.

What about getting the Animal Rights people involed? After all humans are mamal animals.
