Actually, she may go much more quickly. The problem is not lack of food; it's lack of fluids.

Dehydration usually kills within 72-76 hours unless IV fluids are administered, and I doubt they are being given.

She's not in a coma. She's conscious but brain-damaged. The people who are calling her "comatose" are simply lying, or have changed the meaning of words to fit what they want to do.

SHE WAS AND IS NOT IN A COMA. She's alert and attempts to communicate. She laughs, smiles, and crys, just like I do. I refuse to sweep this under the carpet of evil with the "Coma" broom.

Why do people want to artificial prolong the "life" of this lady? She would be long dead without medical intervention. If this were to happen to me I would hope that those who love me would not subject me to such a procedure.

I can't get to Florida. I can pray and send emails. If this evil act takes place, then Terri still will not have lived in vain. She is a contemporary martyr, who made us all take a stand one way or the other. God keeps score.

What does Our Father want us to do? He wants us to get our own lives right with him, because he's coming to take us all home..and boy is he ever mad.

I do have to say the title of the thread is misleading to those people who have not kept up with the case. The title itself reinforces the view that Terri is not alert.

We failed to save Elian because Janet Reno cared less about the welfare of a small boy and more about how to placate Fidel Castro.

We are failing to save Terri because the courts, led by a bunch of self-serving hypocrites are really running this country.

I have no religious beliefs, but I know what's right and ethical and this stinks of indifference and greed perpetuated by a system which is not called into question. After all the facts in Terri's case were brought to light...the many fractures discovered on her body, the possible strangulation attested to by one physician, the fact that Terri and her husband were arguing and she supposedly told a friend that there would be a divorce, the mysterious "heart attack" suffered by this 26 year-old, the fact that Terri received none of the settlement money for her rehabilitation, the fact that this bum has children with another woman whom he wants to marry, the fact that he feels she doesn't need dental exams because she "doesn't eat", etc, etc, etc. How could the courts dismiss all this? How could this excuse for a Judge let her die?

I would like to know from all the people upset by this what would you want YOUR family to do if it was YOU laying comotas for 13 yrs?

I told my wife this morning, if anything like that happens to me, DO NOT let them keep my body alive for more than a few months, and surely not for 13 yrs, like this woman.

It is so sad, yes, I agree.
