Do check out the eulogy Wesley wrote for Robert Wendland, second link on my FR page. It is really beautiful.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I really want to finish this thread, but I have to get up at 4 am. Work really cuts into my FReeping time!!
My prayers will be with Terri and her family tomorrow....and let's not forget, as angry and heartbroken as we all are, to pray for her husband too...as impossible as it seems, God can work a miracle and change his heart.
May God's will be done.

"Jeb doesn't want to do a replay of Governor Gilmore in the Hugh Finn case. You can't blame him for being cautious after Gilmore was sued successfully for intervening."
Oh, well, that makes all the difference. He should certainly save his own ass. What a little coward.

God created cancer What a strange God that is.
Nope. God was never ito "creating" death. Give it a better think.
Hint: Disobedience "created" death.

Big difference. Terri suffers from no terminal disease, and requires no heroic measures to keep her going.
The husband can have a life free of Terri. Others, her parents, have volunteered to assume guardianship and all expense.

Has the American Judicial system, joined the ranks of depotic tyrannical brutal dictators who starved to death millions of their own citizens?
Heck, a fews ago the leftists were so enraged over the Klamath Basin Sucker Fish not having enough water to survive because it was going to farmers desparate to water their crops or lose their farms.

I so happy that your children have such a GREAT mom!! When I was born the doctors told my mom to go and get pregnant again that I was a lost cause. I was born with a cleft palate and a bilateral cleft lip and a vsd (hole in the heart)> My mom and dad told them to go to hell!! They gave me digatalis and had every operation they could have done. I am 38, married and have a beautiful son who is 11. He was not born with any problems thank God! I am due to have another surgery on my nose and I forgot to mention my VSD Closed by itself without having to have an operation!! I call that a miracle! So when I see this I think but for the grace of God that could have been me! Sadly my mom passed away 2 years ago.

If he's a liberal, that's fine. I was really just curious, because I was surprised to find that out. I guess at heart, this really isn't a political issue, but an ethical one. No reason people on both sides can't fall on the same side of this issue.
To: vigilo
It's more than that. It sets precedent every time we lose against the scum. So if the courts rule that Gilmore had no right to intervene, as a governor, then the next court uses that as a means to rule it again.
Jeb is wise to be cautious about taking action.

There is an ancient conversation in the Mahabharat - where a wise person asks a question (as a test):
"What is the most wonderful thing?"
The correct answer:
"The most wonderful (meaning amazing, full of wonder) thing is that everyone sees that his grandfather has died, his great-gradnfather has died, even his father has died. And all previous generations have died. Yet everyone thinks: I shall not die."

Read the book. Culture of Death. Wesley is my friend and I believe him. Thanks for the clarification.
But, I do not to read another book to see that this country is eaten up with the death wish.
And, when you find a suitable emigration situation, plese give me a private ping.
I am so ready to go.

Damn, I just re-read the jacket of the book and read the snippet about Wendland. He was the guy who was brain damaged but was functional enough to wheel his own wheelchair around and they pulled the same deal with him, wanting to remove his feeding tube. He died? Damn.

Sorry, I can't....perhaps it is on the O'Reilly webpage?

That's why this is a culture war, not about money or Terri even completely, but about the cultures behind each side.
The Schindlers have given their best to save both their daughter and the future of this country.

Good letter, Calpernia.
Heard a sermon on Romans 13 and 'civil disobedience' on the radio tonight. Coincidence? When the law goes against God's Commandments, it's our obligation to disobey. Peacefully, to speak up against such laws - disobey.
If the police officers guarding Terri peacefully lifted her up, and carried her out of the Hospice, to a waiting faithful doctor - that would be peaceful disobedience and obeying God's will?
Sending e-mail to Gov. Bush.

yeah well the great irony is that we brought them here, adopted, to give them a better life as disabled children.
And now we need to move to save them from being killed, perhaps. So much for freedom and America...only counts if nothing is wrong with you.

God created us. God created nature. Cancer is a natural process. A bad process, but in many cases it happens.
Is it wrong to fight it with drugs and other "intervention?" How is a feeding tube different from dialysis or chemotherapy, or AZT???
To: MarMema
Yep. As much as I'd like to see Terri saved, I couldn't condone the governor overstepping his bounds.
