"Not artificially prolonging life is not the same as putting someone to death. Death is the result of her being unable to eat/drink"
So then by your reasoning, if I don't feed my infant, I didn't kill her, she died naturally and peacefully? Loony.

ALLOW A CHANCE FOR REHABILITATION and maybe Terri will improve enough to tell Judge Greer for herself? That's what they are afraid of; she might tell what REALLY happened.

Obviously this judge greer, is one of those guys who doesn't want the 10 commandments posted outside his courtroom.
Thou shalt not kill, Judge greer.

Judges have been wrong in the past.

At some point the questions "how much will this cost" and "how will it be paid for and by whom" must be asked and answered. Ever hear the expression, "Some things are more important than money"??

Terri Schiavo, 39, underwent the procedure at the Tampa Bay area hospice where she has been living for several years, said her father, Bob Schindler. Attorneys representing her husband, Michael Schiavo, said it will take between a week and 10 days for her to die. Do these assholes have any mercy ???? Letting a woman die from water dehydration and starvation is about as cruel as sticking scissors in the back of a child's skull.
Oh wait, this is medical so it's ok .....
Just imagine the screams from the ALCU regarding cruel and unusual punishment if they did this to a prisoner.

You and me both. The new loose definitions are very disturbing.

No problem with your posting, in fact it adds to the discussion.
The pro-husband doctor says that Terry's cerebral cortex has "mostly" suffered damage - in fact she apparently has most of her cerebral cortex missing and replaced with spinal fluid.
Perhaps not, though. Perhaps the doctor has made an inference based on a selective reading from the pro-husband doctors, and not read the pro-parent doctors.
The article's author doesn't mention that doctors disagree with doctors over Terry's condition.
One might conclude from the article that the parents, blinded by emotion, don't want to accept the medical consensus. The article doesn't mention opposing medical opinion at all.
The missing cerebral cortex allegation interests me, but the author seems afraid to solicit contrary medical opinion, and I wonder why.

Just imagine the screams from the ALCU regarding cruel and unusual punishment if they did this to a prisoner. Or God forbid, an animal.
Wonder how much time in jail the perps would have to do for starving a puppy?
To: justshutupandtakeit
the questions "how much will this cost" and "how will it be paid for and by whom" must be asked and answered. Those questions have already been answered; the parents said they would take care of her financially and physically.

"The title itself reinforces the view that Terri is not alert." Liberalese....the new official American language.
- abortion = choice
- faggot = gay
- perversity = diversity
- racism = tolerance
- truth = hate
- brain-damaged = comatose
An entire rewrite of the dictionary could be done.

Thank you for the information. Since I have not followed this case I know very little about it and am merely asking questions. That seems to bother some people but so what.
I can imagine few things worse than watching a beloved wife go through such a thing for 13 yrs. My own suffered with breast cancer for 3 and at the end I could not imagine putting her through such agony for another minute than God ordained. Everything had been tried and nothing worked though she fought like a tiger. I am incapable of such struggles and lack her courage.

How many millions of the taxpayers' funds have been spent on her already? Probably not near as much as we spend trying to keep a cold blooded murder from being executed.
Your question is the very reason Germany gave for killing off the infirm and feeble.

She's NOT comatose. She responds to her family (when they are allowed to visit) and can follow instructions given by a doctor (like "open your eyes"). Her website has it all on video. Her husband has refused to provide her with any sort of therapy.
This is murder, nothing less.
To: Diogenesis
he can't divorce her..he would lose 1.6 million dollars and end up with nothing to show for his 13 years of hard work trying to kill her...micheal schiavo is the reson she's there.it seems he tried to strangle her or abuse her and thats how she ended up like this...
To: hedgetrimmer

STATEMENT OF BISHOP ROBERT N. LYNCH CONCERNING THE TERRI SCHIAVO CASE
Excessive rhetoric like the use of murder or the designation of the trial judge or appellate judges as murderers not be used by anyone from our Judeo-Christian tradition. This is a much harder case than those who use facile language might know.
To: erikm88
You are correct in that $750,000 of the judgement was stipulated for her care and rehabilitation. However, Schiavo got permission from Judge Greer to pay his lawyers and other costs from it, so it was court-approved. Now, how the court could approve a use for the money that contradicted the use stipulated by the jury, I just don't know. But those are the facts.

I agree. I think the FL freepers should be out in front of that hospital with a laptop set up showing those cam clips of Terri over and over again.
I think Florida Freepers should be FEEDING Terri.
We are ALL gonna be judged.

Just repeating a commandment.
