LAST night's fund-raiser for the Rev. Al Sharpton at Jay-Z's 40/40 club was also a late birthday party for the Democratic presidential hopeful. He turned 49 on Oct. 3. Though Sharpton doesn't seem to be going anywhere in the polls, he was upbeat as he prepared to party with P. Diddy and Russell Simmons. Sharpton was buoyed by Arnold Schwarzenegger's victory in California. "He proved that you don't have to be a career politician to get elected," said the Rev. "We're a lot alike, only I didn't have a stunt man to do all my dirty work."

If only Sharpton wasn't black! The democrats would nominate him in a minute if he wasn't black. Sharpton has the kind of edgy competitiveness that would make him a perfect candidate for national office if the dems didn't hate blacks so much.

He does have that same "OUTSIDER" appeal that got Arnie elected. Sharpton, just like Arnie, would get the vote of millions of middle-Americans who would say, "What the hell, he can't do any worse than THEY did," and , no matter what party, they'd vote for Al. Al's a contender! The dems will buy him off but, I hope he has enough personal integrity to see that and if the dems won't have him, he runs as an independent, perhaps, on the Green ticket with Nader.

That's right Al, you are responsible for all of your dirty works: Tawana Brawley, not paying your rent, and living off of poor blacks who look to you for help. No stuntman would touch that gig!
