Delegate Ana S. Gutierrez, Montgomery County Democrat, said illegal aliens are being denied driver's licenses illegally and hopes an opinion written by state Attorney General J. Joseph Curran Jr. will persuade the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) to follow the law.

Md. has entered the realm of the Twilight Zone. No kidding.
So, Bobby E., you're going to veto an illegal alien driver's license bill? Who cares? Heck, we don't need no steenking law. We'll just get our crony Joe Curran in the Attorney General's office to opinionate that it's already allowed under current law. Hah! Fooled you. We don't let things like laws get in the way of what we want!!

The MVA also considers such primary and secondary documents as school, utility and telephone records, out-of-state and international driver's license or a tax identification card. What...no voter registration cards?

Mr. Curran was unavailable yesterday for comment, but his chief counsel, Robert N. McDonald, said he expected illegal immigrants who have the required documents to now be able to obtain the licenses. So, undocumented immigrants who have their documents can now apply for a driver's license? But I thought that they were undocumented!

"In the United States [driving] is an essential mode of transportation," Miss Gutierrez said. "People who need to get to work are driving without driver licenses and most importantly without insurance, and that is dangerous."Now, Miss Gutierrez, why don't you help get these illegal aliens who are unable to prove their legal presence deported? After all, if they're not in the US, they definitely won't need to risk dangerous unlicensed US driving.

FOLLOW THE LAW????????????? What a moron! If we followed the law ALL illegal aliens would be deported......IMMEDIATELY UPON DISCOVERY and this would become a non-topic.
