It depends. How old was the guy, and did he have liver problems?

Form the article:
The tribe of Nubutautau believe that they were being cursed Sounds like these guys have at least recognized the error of their ways.
Believing in curses isn't much of an advance.

The tribe of Nubutautau believe that they were being cursed for what their forefathers had done and that a traditional apology needed to be made to Baker's descendants. Sounds like a lot of cultural progress has been made in 136 years.

I've never seen another F&S fan on FR before. You're my new best friend.
My prize possession is a copy of Donald Swann's "The Space Between the Lines", inscribed by Swann to Michael Flanders and with a bookplate from Flanders' widow, Claudia's (now deceased herself), library. The book itself is a lot of lefty, one-worldy, Quaker-y piffle, but Swann comes across as a rather kgentle and holy innocent. Quite charming, really, and much in keeping with what you might have expected from the albums and performance, but even more intelligent.
By the way, it's peculiar that, just a few minutes ago, I posted a thread on this same story, but from the BBC. Coincidence? I think not.

Oh, sure, I've been around for a while - see #71 on
this thread!
IIRC from the booklet in my Complete F&S CD set, Swann's mother was a Muslim. Could explain some of the squishiness.

Around longer than I've been, and I regard myself as a relative old-timer here. Don't remember running into you before, though.
You're right about Swann's mum, and I believe he spent WWII in the medical corps in Palestine (as it then was), which could make anyone go a bit squishy.
The more I listen to F&S, the more I think Swann's might have been the greater genius. And that's saying something.

Five years ago, entrepreneurs caused an uproar on the islands with a plan to sell "cannibal chutney" based on a traditional dish that once accompanied human meat at feasts.
