President Bush has declared this week "Marriage Protection Week" after a coalition of 25 evangelical Christian and conservative organizations announced a campaign to preserve marriage as the union of a man and a woman. The drive of the campaign is to bring awareness to a proposed amendment to the constitution that states in part, "Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman." President Bush has not, as yet, endorsed the amendment.

Every child, that is, except the ones in households headed by a same-sex couple or a single parent.

I enjoy your Ithaca reports.

Here is a good one for you.--

In response to the operation in Dallas to separate the twins joined together at the top of the head, a female professor of social something or other at Wellesly (sp?)College commented that such operations on minors are morally wrong. Such an operation implies that living as a conjoined twin is "not normal" or is somehow inferior to not being conjoined at the head with your sibling.

Y'all got something in the water up there, or what?
