Him and every other media personality who has made the choice to devote time to Terri's cause. It's not PC so it's really unexpected.

terri. I was reading about her, and I work in the medical profession so I could not get past the horror of deliberately doing to someone what we work so hard to correct and prevent - dehydration.
Then I read something that mentioned Hugh Finn, so I googled the name and read it all and felt more horror - another one.
And each one led to the next until in a few short days I compiled a list with very little effort. Which increased my horror. And I had not even known about this before.....
Then I vowed to become an anti-euthanasia activist, while I read both of Wesley's books, and was sold on the cause. The movement is a scary and dangerous one.
Reading the medical journals at work was among the greatest horrors I experienced. You would not believe what the physicians are writing and saying, and some of it was written years and years ago.

Yes. Having emailed my share of these people and not had one response, I am very grateful to all media who do this.
And especially to Wesley who is going where ever he can and talking about this. He has committed his life to getting the word out to the public about these horrors.

Example letter from New England Journal of Medicine.
The authors reply:
To the Editor: The mission of the task force was to collect and summarize medical and neurologic facts about the vegetative state, which, in turn, could serve as a basis for future deliberations on the ethical, legal, social, economic, and personal-values considerations. We tried diligently to refrain from making any implicit or explicit value statements in the document. The task force's report essentially agrees with the suspicions of Dr. Haig and Dr. Whyte about the effects of aggressive as compared with limited treatment on the life expectancies of patients in a vegetative state. However, as our report notes, there are no formal studies to assess accurately the impact of these decisions on life expectancy. Perhaps future studies will shed more light on this issue.
More important than life expectancy is the point at which irreversibility (permanency) can be established with a high degree of certainty. After considerable deliberation, the members of the task force concluded that it was necessary to distinguish clearly the permanent vegetative state (in which the chances of recovering consciousness are extremely remote, or as Dr. Zasler and his colleagues say, "rare") from the persistent vegetative state (arbitrarily designated as a vegetative state present one month after the initial traumatic or hypoxic-ischemic event), in which studies demonstrate that full recovery of consciousness and other neurologic functions can occur. We hope that this document will encourage the reporting of more data, either individual case reports or systematic studies of large numbers of patients, that will support or refute the predictive probabilities contained in the report.
The strong consensus among professional specialty societies, health care professionals, case law (including the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in the Cruzan case),1 and statutory laws supports the view that the withdrawal of artificial nutrition and hydration from certain patients with severe brain damage is not "killing" them, as Dr. McQuillen asserts, but rather letting them die by removing a medical treatment. The public and its elected representatives can draw their own conclusions about whether it is appropriate to spend $1 billion to $7 billion yearly for patients in a vegetative state.
The correlation of the vegetative state and unconsciousness rested on the medical view that the cerebral cortex is the primary locus of "conscious awareness." We realize that a minority of neurologic specialists remain unconvinced of this, and an even smaller minority continue to maintain that patients in a vegetative state can experience pain or suffering. Members of the task force were aware of occasional cases of the vegetative state arising from predominantly thalamic damage. Our report notes that relatively selective thalamic necrosis may follow acute global ischemia. The autopsy findings on Karen Ann Quinlan do not refute the basic assumption of the primary locus of consciousness.

That was precisely my reference. By God's grace her tormentors will have the grace to understand and regret her thirst and not know it. At the same time, I'm so outraged I'm banging my head on the keyboard. Let her murderers be outcast, and God have mercy on the defenseless. Let someone be a hero in her case. Who will it be? Someone is going to be a hero in this woman's case. Someone is going to refuse to let this happen, someone in power is going to say No. Someone is going to offer his own career up for her. I hope.

Please add me to your ping list for Wesley's writings.
As someone who has worked with people with severe retardation and developmental disabilities, this story and others like it really hits home. I have known many wonderful people who have even less function than Terri... I think of one lady in particular who has severe MS and other disabilities- she is completely rigid and cannot even move at all, except to blink her eyes. To think of someone killing her and the others I know... it just breaks my heart.
We are ALL God's children. Terri's spirit is whole, her body is only temporary.

Call Jeb's Office at 850-488-4441 and ask to speak to Lauren O'Conner (Aide to Governor Bush). Let her know that by Jeb's own admission in his Amicus Memorandum that Terri is being denied due process. Let her know that Jeb as Govenor has an obligation to step in and bring a halt to Terri's execution.
Do not stop calling.

I just read an article where Andrea Yates is refusing to eat and wants to die and our government won't let her. If Mrs. Yates husband tells them that she would not want to live like this, will the prison system accept his request or force feed her? Something is very wrong with our (lack of)justice system.

All,
Please call Jeb's Office at 850-488-4441 and ask to speak to Lauren O'Conner (Aide to Governor Bush).
Let her know that by Jeb's own admission in his Amicus Memorandum that Terri is being denied due process.
Let her know that Jeb as Governor has an obligation to step in and bring a halt to Terri's execution.
Among other things ask that Terri be given "Foster Care" custody status based on reports of abuse and
neglect filed on Terri's behalf" in adult protective services.
Do not stop calling.
Please spread the message!
P.S. Please do the same asking to speak to Christa Calamas to relate the same.
Hurry while the business day lasts. You can still leave a message afterwards but it would be better to be patched to
these individuals.

Imagine if you will being listening to Coast to Coast in the early morning and hearing George Noory talk about the Hospice. I was there when George was asking for civil disobedience by doctors. Today Hospice was calling the police because they were afraid we "WERE KILLING THE GRASS". The police stated if we stood in this one area, we'd be subject to trespass charges for killing the grass.
But, killing Terri is O.K.

Since yesterday, 6,000 people have signed the Petition in support of Terri which is at terrisfight.org.
That makes the current total at 60,000. I urge everyone who hasn't done so yet to please sign the Petition. Our leaders need to see the size and scope of Terri's fight by not letting up. We will not tire, we will not falter.

I echo your call for a hero. If the tube is taken out, a possible scenario is that Terri will respond with such vigor and intent that staff or that policeman at her door cannot ignore the fact that this is murder.
...though we know that little ones struggle to survive and are left to die untended after abortions. Such is our culture of death and evil.
