I've been thinking about Michael's reasons, too. . .money + something else even darker?

Does anyone have more (w/links, pref) on what caused Terri's initial collapse in '90? "Questionable circumstances" are mentioned in articles, but I am still looking for solid info. I've seen mentions of heart attack/arrythmia; bulimia; blood sugar. Michael brought suit against her physicians -- I'll see if I can find it there.

I simply could not be barred -- this earth knows no fury like a mother protecting her children! Terri's poor mom has to be beside herself . . .

cyn,

Have you been to Terri's website? http://www.terrisfight.org There's a bone scan there that shows multiple traumas. A doctor has also testified that he has only seen one other neck like Terri's, and that is in the case of someone who has been strangled. I believe it was 'Judge' Greer who ruled that something that happened 12 years ago, was basically irrelevant to the issue at hand, whether Terri should be starved to death or not. In other words, there is a possibility that, in the State of Florida, a man can possibly attempt to murder his wife, and then colaborate with corrupt lawyers and 'judges' to have the State finish what he started, and be rewarded with the money he fraudulently acquired for her rehabilitation.

On the 1st monster Terri thread, this had been batted around. The cause at the time of her collapse was a heart attack, and that she had a potassium imbalance. They attributed the potassium inbalance to be from bulimia which they thought Terri had, since she had lost a significant amount of weight. That's why the jury only awarded her what they did, because they found that she was 70% responsible for her own collapse, and her doctor 30%. Upon further investigation, however, a FReeper was able to find info that a potassium imbalance can be the fight or flight response to a struggle. One of the doctors who has examined Terri said that he has seen a neck as rigid as Terri's in only one other patient, a strangulation. What we fear is that Michael may have tried to kill Terri, and in her struggle to fight him off, the potassium imbalance caused her to have a heart attack. Here's the link for the monster thread, and it was probably somewhere between 3500 and 5000 that this was discussed, but I'm not sure exactly where. If I remember correctly, freeper syriacus found the struggle information I'm referring to, but it could also have been many others (dandelion, kimmie7, or many others). Hope this helps.
