[history]
WASHINGTON - For a state steeped in tradition, President Bush's choice of a nonresident to take a Virginian's seat on the Richmond-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals stands out.
The White House's mistaken labeling of Haynes as a Virginia resident was followed by a congressional leak, administration backpedaling and a correction. Virginia's senators, both Republicans, were not thrilled by the choice of a nonresident. The nominee has acted quickly to buy a house in Virginia.

What a mess of drivel~~
I'm dumbfounded that this idiot writer is belaboring the nominee's moves and where his kid goes to school and that he worked in Alexandria...BUT what are his beliefs? What political position does he hold? Is he a strict Constitutionalist or middle road? Is he more inclined to living interpretations? WHAT?
Someone whack this journalist with a rubber chicken, please.

Interesting precedent. This could pose a way to end run some holds by rat senators.

I'm less concerned about Bush's non-Virginian appointment than I was about Clinton's un-American appointments...

Haven't read the paper yet. Been out working in the yard.
I can't stomach much of what Betty Booker says.

It's bad, really bad, BARF warning for sure.
Didn't mean to go off topic, but I went postal when I read that one (after posting this one) and it's to local to waste time posting.

I know it's not the same as a judicial nomination, but I know of a "woman" who went to another state to get "elected" as a "Senator" and even decided she was a fan of their baseball team. :o)
