Kentucky

No primary poll for the Democratic field, which is probably due to Lunsford bowing out of the race this past Friday.

Election Results so far, very early results:

Richards & Chandler neck & neck

Jackson ahead of Fletcher (I assume her counties report early)

Possible upset on the D side; Richards is hanging in there in early returns, and the bulk of his support is supposed to be in the counties that are open an hour later, and thus haven't yet reported.

No, there was no surprise. It will be a Chandler-Fletcher general election as virtually everyone expected. The closest thing to a surprise is that Judge-Executive Rebecca Jackson finished second in the GOP gubernatorial primary, leaving the McCain-endorse Steve Nunn a very weak third. Another point: Chandler ran more than 50,000 votes ahead of Fletcher. Unsurprising: low turnout

Apparently State Rep. Greg Stumbo (D) will face Jack D. Wood (R) in the race for KY attorney general in November. Stumbo was in the news two weeks ago for failure to pay back child support. In many states, it is the attorney general who is responsible for enforcing child support collection orders. Does anyone know anything about Wood? I am unfamiliar with him. He has 39 percent (9:30 Eastern time) in a multi-candidate GOP field.
