Coulon is another RINO, a johnny-come-lately Republican who was a DemocRAT, and recently changed to Republican when he thought it was to his benefit. He is being term-limited out as Parish President and hasn't indicated that he plans to run for anything else. I called his office and, after telling them that I am irate about his supporting Landrieu and that he is a traitor, etc., etc., etc, I told them that I hope he runs for something else, so that I and my group can vote and campaign against him. What an unprincipled lowlife!
Ah, a Dim in Pubbie garb; seems to be a lot of that goin' around these days. Well, looks like youse guys got your work cut out for you.
newslady, I haven't really noticed any La. Freepers kinda takin' the lead for us over there. I gather there's not really a FR chapter other than the Gulf Coast Freepers that could coordinate a Freeper effort??? You've probably noticed lotsa Freepers outside La. interested in helping the cause. If you don't mind my sayin', you and Patriot1 would be perfect contacts for the rest of us asuming you've got the time to spare(when you're not calling, mailing, banging on doors, handing out flyers, chairing meetings, etc). ; )
Terrel needs to take her place in the senate along with Thune in SoDak to give us a "jump proof" majority. With that kind of majority, it's possible we could also see a couple other converts like Miller and Breaux, eh?
Regards,
FGS
FGS, Patriot1 (Margaret Baird) and I (Margie Seemann) would be more than happy to coordinate a FReeper effort to elect Suzie Terrell. We are currently working with Terrell operatives on a grass-roots campaign in Jefferson Parish. Grassroots was nonexistent in the November 5th election, except for an independent effort by our group. Suzie got into the race late and didn't even have a campaign headquarters in the New Orleans area. At the time she entered the race, the major volunteers and professionals in this area had already committed to work for other candidates and for other races. However, most of them are now coming together to help Suzie.
FGS, as you so astutely pointed out, Suzie spent significantly less than Landrieu in the 11/5 election. Suzie used her campaign funds wisely in the primary, just as she spent our taxpayer dollars wisely in her position as Elections Commissioner. She has already found a campaign headquarters in Jefferson Parish for the December 7th election, and it's walking distance from Patriot1's home and very close to mine, which makes it really convenient for us.
By the way, Patriot1 and I have not been able to spend as much time as we would like to on the campaign in the past few days, because our 87-year old Mother had a fall Thursday and broke her hip and her wrist. She had surgery yesterday and appears to be doing well. I spent the last three nights with her in the hospital. She will probably be in the hospital for another two weeks and will stay at my house when she is released. We are lining up help to care for her in the hospital and at my house, so we can campaign with the necessary intensity to win. On to victory for Suzie Terrell!!!!!!

Good show! Sounds as though this is essentially a start-from-scratch effort. The lady must have made quite an impression to garner the support she did on basically a wing and a prayer??? It impresses me.
I'm hoping the rest of us can be of some assistance over the next few weeks, so when the time comes, give a holler.

I am one of like three registered republicans where I live. I left my license in my billfold over the weekend and forgot to put it back in my wallet prior to voting on Tues. I tried to use my Tulane ID, which is 5 years old and expired, at the polling station. After ten minutes of haggling, I decided it was easier to drive home, retrieve my license and return to vote.
I wonder if I would have had any problems had I been a registered dem.
Not gain, just maintain. The 5th has been firmly in Republican hands for years. Rep John Cooksey ran third in the race for Senate against Landrieu and will be returning to his ophthalmology practice.
Would a crowbar help? ;o)
Thanks, I think Terrell will do just fine. (Keep it handy just in case)
