I'm not close enough to the campaign to know any details about this event beyond what is written here. I received a note in the mail from the campaign, and I called for permission to post the information here. I assume that Dr. Dobson is not going to be at the rally in person but is sending a taped message. He has endorsed Mr. Perkins in this race and has sent or authorized several letters in support of Mr. Perkins.
There was a debate tonight featuring the four major candidates in the Louisiana U.S. Senate race. Free Republic already has a thread at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/campaign2002/775406/posts to discuss the debate. I'll repeat my comments on that thread, but I thought Mr. Perkins did very well.
I would also urge those who are supporting other candidates to attend this rally. It should be a good event, and showing support for all three conservative candidates through the election will help us to maintain momentum going through the November election and into the December runoff. I'm supporting Mr. Perkins now, but if he doesn't make the runoff, I'll proudly support one of the other candidates. I see no negatives on the Republican side. I've made my choice as the best of three very good candidates.

Another quick point to everyone - I checked the campaign website, and I couldn't find the information about the rally that I thought was there. I'm now wondering what I thought I saw that had more information. In any case, interested people could still call the campaign for more information.

I'm feeling a little under the weather and will be late, but I'm heading to the rally soon. This will be a last bump for this thread.
