FREEPERS...put up or Shut up!
Posted on 10/16/2002 8:13:10 AM PDT by Gopher Broke
Freepers.......time is almost GONE to help Republicans WIN BACK the Senate! We need to contribute money NOW in order to help. I just gave $100 by credit card today to the National Republican Senatorial Committe. Please match my challenge, or at least contribute something..
Click here to visit the NRSC to help.
If you prefer to give to individual campaigns, here is a GREAT site with discussion of the Senate races, including the 7 seats that are up for grabs. This site also has a link to each of the Senate campaign websites. One of the states will SURPRISE you!
Take back congress.org
Will Daschle keep blocking the Bush judicial nominees? Will the Senate Democrats continue to BLOCK the entire Bush agenda, including making the tax cuts permanent?
It is up to US. If you live in one of the states with the 7 hot Senate races (AR, CO, MN, MO, NJ, NH, SD, WV) VOLUNTEER. Everyone can visit the websites above and DONATE.
Let's win the Senate BACK, Freepers!!

Just as you have publicly shown your distain for donating money in this OPEN FORUM.

Hurt your tender ears? You're in the wrong place.
Political debate is stimulating and often irritating.
I think freepers can handle debate and dissent.

I think freepers can handle debate and dissent.I don't think telling someone to go "Piss up a rope" constitutes your dissent, rather is shows your lack of argument.

Well, aren't you the conscious of this forum, telling
everyone else how to behave.

There is more than just money to help. I set up this post as a place to post where to become a poll watcher. If there is fraud, poll watchers become legal witnesses to any misdeeds. (poll boxes disapearing for too long, fewer voters than actual votes cast)
This is an important non-monetary contribution. If freepers can protest in 2000, we can also participate in 2002 to keep the process honest.
(in some places poll workers are actually PAID!)
Please add information to become a poll worker in your state or county. If you can't be a watcher then perhaps the information you provide can help someone else protect the polling places.

The media here in WV is reporting that the NRSC has pretty much abandoned Jay Wolfe to his own devices because they don't think he has a chance in hell of winning. As such, why should I donate?

I'll tell you the same thing I tell the kind folks soliciting on the phone...
As long as we have SPINELESS leaders like Trent Lott and RINOs like John McLame, the Republican party will not get a dime out of my pocket.
NOT A SINGLE DIME!!

Gopher Broke, way ahead of ya :) Did that some time ago. In addition to money we must be willing to give of our time too. We can all help out in any number of ways and they're all important this year. In my state we have such an uphill struggle and need all the help we can get.
Thanks for the ping, Wphile :)

Has it ever occured to you that lots of viable candidates don't run for high office because raising funds it is such a costly, time consuming effort ? If you want to have representation in Congress by someone who supports your views then you must do something to help them get elected or your complaints will fall on deaf ears.

Whoa! You've brought out the
uglies here, haven't you, Gopher?!
I've already contributed more than I ever have because it is so critical to WIN BACK THE SENATE!!!!
We need pro-life, intelligent, strict constructionist JUDGES and it's going to take a Republican House and Senate to get them.

Some of us don't need to show how much we care publicly. But you do seem to be making an effort to publicly show how much you don't care.

I'm glad you said that! They even hounded me at work NOT to mention the LOADS of advertising and requests for contributions! I told the last RNC telecaller that I was really fed up with the RNC's extortion tactics of extracting money from taxpayers on a monthly basis. The last straw was when I received a certified receipt in the mail which I thought was a package to pick up. After standing in line for 45 minutes at the post office, it turned out to be nothing but an RNC pitch for more money. That did it for me. No more.

Well said anitius:
We have to take a long term view of this election. The may not be perfect republicans but to have a solid republican controlled federal government will establish the groundwork to lock out the democratic party wackos.
We want the Republican part to control the procedural issues of Congress. This will be benificial for redistricting issues, judges, committee assignments, etc.
We must see each small victory as leading to a greater victory down the line. 2004,2006,2010,2012,2014 and so on...
