Keisha Lance Bottoms' chances of beating Republicans in Georgia governor's race

Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms enters the 2026 Georgia gubernatorial race with real momentum—and a rare opening for Democrats in a state that hasn't elected a Democrat as governor in decades.

Republican Governor Brian Kemp is term-limited, giving Democrats a shot at the governor's office in an open contest. Bottoms is polling ahead of her Republican counterparts and doing better than Stacey Abrams at this point in 2020 against Kemp. But with the runoff over, Republicans are going to be consolidating support around one candidate, making for an uphill battle for Bottoms.

This is not an election to be taken lightly. Living down here I see this as a race that Bottoms could win.

She’s a failed former mayor of Atlanta. I’d be very surprised if she won. There has actually been some progress in cracking down on the Stacey Abrams election fraud machine - the voter rolls have been at least somewhat cleaned up.

I agree she needs to be taken seriously, there are a lot of stupid Democrats out there. All those middle of the road voters are going to get reminded she let Atlanta burn in the Summer of Love 2020.

Georgia has had massive voter fraud for a number of years perpetuated by anti-Trumpers Brian Kemp and Brad Raffensberger.

Add the leftwing voter fraud machine, Bottoms will come out on Top.

Yes, but she’s black. And a communist.

I am an election official in GA. I want to reassure you a bit about election fraud in GA.

ONE county, really, remains as a problem - Fulton. Fulton is already solid blue. That is not going to change.

But ...

Fulton is now monitored for compliance VERY CLOSELY.

Case in point, last night 100% of Fulton precincts reported results. THAT was rare. Now there are too many eyes that matter on Fulton.

We have greatly improved the process and the compliance requirements. And the digital and paper audit trails are now rock solid. There is really only a couple bad risk surfaces remaining: (1) are the names on the Fulton voter rolls all legit?, and (2) who actually prepared and mailed absentee ballots? GA does NOT do mass-mail absentee voting, it’s by request, with address verification, voter eligibility check, prior to mailing one out. BUT, those two risk areas remain in Fulton.

Bottoms will win Fulton no matter what.

The state is otherwise far redder than the press will acknowledge.

She has the Atlanta metro vote in the bag. She has half or more of the guilty white woman vote. She has a state with a huge black population in the large voting areas. From my perspective, I do not see a path that Jackson can beat her with what she has in the bag already.

It seems to me that Georgia’s biggest problem is the RINOs.

If election fraud can be prevented, the Democrats do not have a chance.

Yahoo a Far Far left wing Dem PR site is hard to take seriously.

Yahoo is primarily owned by the private equity firm Apollo Global Management, which acquired a 90% stake in the business in 2021. Verizon retained a minority 10% stake. AT&T never owned it.

Gotta agree. GA voters turn out big time for governor’s elections. It’s a Southern thing.

As a poll worker, we know what sorts of crowds/lines ... AND attempted shenanigans to look for. And now, truly, we have good law behind us.

The dog that didn't bark in this situation is Bottoms' choice not to run for a second term as Mayor. It makes no sense. Political careers are about ladder climbing - advancing sequentially through offices to get to the ultimate objective. You stay in one position to gain further obligations, which you redeem in the process of reaching for the next level, and so on. She left the Mayor's office after 1 term for what reason?

This is a homework assignment for the Media.

Lance-Bottoms’ biggest errors is how she allowed ARMED gangbangers to control an intersection at the Wendy’s that was burned down during riots. A young black girl was shot by the thugs when her father driving the car ran the intersection. Then Lance-Bottoms fired two Black police officers for tasering two black female college student during the riots. The videos looked like police abuse. The back story was the girls ran a police barricade and were trying to get through a second barricade. The police officers had to sue to get their jobs back. She is a horrible leader.

The media will write glowing reports on how she let armed gangbangers control a street corner with n Atlanta until they shot and killed a young black girl. The lame stream media will describe it as a sincere intellectual approach toward community out reach to disenfranchised community youth. Nothing to see here, move along.

>>She is a horrible leader.

You’ll get no argument from me about that, but she’s black and a communist. She has Atlanta completely locked up, and 60 - 70 % of women throughout the state. Added to that the Fulton county fraud machine has not yet been dealt with.

Georgia here. She absolutely could win. Dems are morons and suburban libtard women are the worst & will come out to support giant loser Keisha.

Jackson & Jones fought a divisie campaign so who knows if the losing half will flock to the other side in support or not?
