At first blush, Trump’s insistence on Greenland sounds outlandish, but recall over 20 yrs ago I began warning of foreigners aggressively claiming Arctic resources and waterways - while America slept.
Russia was flagging underseas energy sources, our inventory of icebreakers dwindled to ONE reliable (against DOZENS of foreign-flagged vessels), and DC ignored my concerns of countries hogging new transportation routes that would screw us over.
In explaining Alaska’s strategic location (30% of which is in the #Arctic) I was mocked for ringing the warning bells… but really I was just before my time. So now that attention is finally paid, for Americans’ AND Greenlanders’ sakes the Administration should clearer explain this sudden interest in the Arctic.
I realize not everyone has the energy-centric obsession I possess🤷🏻♀️ so head-scratching over Greenland is to be expected by an electorate loathe to trust anything in the political arena today. I join them in the distrust, but honing in on resource issues related to our security and sovereignty should help, if only they make it make sense.
#Greenland is worthy of, and in fact requires, serious and open discussion if mutual benefit is our goal.

One of these days, some of us will know the real reason(s) why Trump chose not to include Sarah Palin in any of his boards, committees or even campaigns? Seems like a wasted resource. Sarah is from Alaska, and may have some relevant insight on how to deal with Greenland.
It could be something as basic and as human as two people, each used to leading, each with their own gigantic egos, could not get along without great offense being taken.
We bought the US Virgin Islands from Denmark, the negotiations took several years, before the US acquired them in 1917.
Yeah I don’t know...what I do know is that Steve Bannon has been among Palin’s greatest champions for awhile...

I saw Palin as the next Reagan. But alas, it was not meant to be. Too many forces were arraigned against her. And that included some members of her own party.
Palin desperately needed a wise, old mentor. Such a person never appeared.
