Republicans in key battleground U.S. House districts are working to contain the political fallout that may come when thousands of their constituents face higher bills for health insurance coverage obtained through the Affordable Care Act.
One of those is first-term U.S. Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, R-Pa., whose victory for the Allentown-area seat last year was among the narrowest in the nation.
“I think that we need to deal with the reality of where we are now and even if you have a broken system, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t provide or offer relief to individuals who are dealing with those high costs right now,” Mackenzie said in an interview with The Associated Press.
Democrats have been laying the groundwork, starting with this fall’s shutdown fight, to make the health care issue a focus of next year’s campaigns.

So your peddling another doom and gloom Gop is over article from radical left wing Dem front group PBS which is identical to the AP same
DNC talking points .
Why do you constantly peddle Dem talking points from far left Dnc front groups .
Obamacare is forever linked to Obama a...unless messaging is so poorly done that it steals Obamacare away from Obama.
Things can change. But as it stands right now The 2 big issues are
#1 The economy. MAGA messaging on the economy is lousy. MAGA has lost the messaging war on tariffs. The best that can be done is to declare victory and return to free trade in exchange for others returning to free trade. (China is an issue of national security, not free trade.)
#2 ICE, Homan, Bovino are about to jump the shark (Rush term). Social media is full of stories where ICE is going after hardworking, church going family people and not after drug dealers, rapists, DUI drivers. Both the reality and the messaging need to be very clear to make the distinction.
So if PBS says Trump won the presidency you won’t believe them? They cite a direct quote from an actual Pennsylvania R congressman whose sentiments are also shared by Senator Hawley and the like. GOP should appreciate the warnings now before it’s too late. Dems have been on a roll and 2026 could be disastrous if denial reigns.
Rather, this is a timely warning and a wake up call. 🛎️
Did anyone then or now think that they didn’t?
Meanwhile, we stayed mired in that meatgrinder for years despite his claim he had a peace plan ready to go.
I think all things considered Nixon did the best he could to get us out of there with at least some dignity.
After destroying that free market, dems will blame the free market for the high cost of healthcare and insurance.
Worse because they are hypocrites and probably secretly prefer democrat policies. At a minimum they want to be invited to all the right parties which they won’t be if they are True MAGA supporters These hypocrite RINO do-nothings in Congress are one of the main reasons Republicans do not come out to vote unless Trump is on the ticket.
I think that only strong MAGA Trump supporters are going to win as Republicans next cycle. Why should anyone vote for a Republican squish when they could vote for a full throated leftist Democrat? Or just stay home.
Yep, bogus PBS headline...subsidies aren’t going away, the EXTRA large Biden/COVID era subsides are going away. A family of 4 can make $128,000. (400% of “FPL”) and still get a subsidy under “original ACA” in 2026.

How could it not have given that it further destroyed any semblance of a free market for healthcare and healthcare insurance?

The health sector already looks very socialistic, as well as being very expensive.
I’m not sure the status quo is maintainable for the future.
It’ll carry on until a financial/economic crisis hits, then all bets are off.
