Swing district Republicans brace for political fallout if health care subsidies expire

Republicans in key battleground U.S. House districts are working to contain the political fallout that may come when thousands of their constituents face higher bills for health insurance coverage obtained through the Affordable Care Act.

One of those is first-term U.S. Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, R-Pa., whose victory for the Allentown-area seat last year was among the narrowest in the nation.

“I think that we need to deal with the reality of where we are now and even if you have a broken system, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t provide or offer relief to individuals who are dealing with those high costs right now,” Mackenzie said in an interview with The Associated Press.

Democrats have been laying the groundwork, starting with this fall’s shutdown fight, to make the health care issue a focus of next year’s campaigns.

I doubt a very many Republican voters, if any, get this subsidy.

Corporate welfare now rebranded as “healthcare subsidies.”

This is a disaster that would *not* exist but for Democrats and Democrats alone, yet the media narrative is that it is the Republicans’ fault.

Nothing new - but still no less infuriating. Lying works - so why would they stop?

Just like Vietnam became all about Nixon, as if LBJ never existed.

Let’s not forget that treasonous scumbag McCain who switched his vote at the last minute and ended our chance to kill this monster.

And I would bet a disproportionate number of Trump voters actually do get this subsidy

“We told you so” might be a good narrative. Republicans warned of the financial disaster that Obamacare would become. The only Republican vote for Obamacare that I recall was cast by brain tumor afflicted McCain who voted against repeal. A 93% subsidy for a health insurance plan is hardly a subsidy.

Sorry, nope. When the GOP wing of the uniparty didn’t have the majority in Congress they introduced hopeless laws to repeal it over and over and over again.

Then they got the majority and Trump as president—and all of a sudden they loved Obamacare.

Our critters are just as bad as theirs, maybe worse, because they occasionally take what appears to the be right side they overwhelmingly deceive their voters and ultimately thwart real progress.

When healthcare and healthcare insurance costs five to ten times what it would in a free market, why would you assume anyone eligible wouldn't be receiving subsidies?

This notion that people are getting subsidies or Medicaid because they are lazy or want handouts is an idiotic premise.

So you are saying the vote buying scheme worked?

How could it not have given that it further destroyed any semblance of a free market for healthcare and healthcare insurance?

Obamacare is why some people can’t get a full-time job.
Obamacare requires employers with 50 or more full-time employees to offer health insurance.
Employees who work an average of 30 hours or more per week are considered full-time.
An employer doesn’t have to offer healthcare to visa holders which is probably why when Biden was president all the full-time jobs went to the foreign born.
Illegal aliens don’t have to have healthcare and a hospital can’t deny the emergency treatment.

America’s birthrate is below the replacement level.
U.S. population is 343,603,404
U.S. population in 1990 was 248,709,873
In the early 90s is when judges started giving benefits to illegal aliens.
That’s a population growth of 94,893,531 since 1990.
25,000,000 immigrants have become citizens since 1990.
55,000,000 visa holders Including asylum seekers the dems call legal residents and gave Green Cards to.
There are 14,893,531 illegal aliens.that didn’t claim asylum and get Green Cards.
In FY 2024, the U.S. issued over 9 million visas. Some of which were Green Cards for asylum seekers.
In FY 2024, the U.S. issued 401,000 student visas.
In FY 2024, the U.S. issued 140,000 new work visas, H-1B, not including renewals.
Tourist visas are good for a few months to 10 years.
Student visas are good for the program’s length.
Work visas are good for 1-3 years.
55,000,000+14,893,531-401,000-140,000=69,352,531 illegal aliens

Joe Biden created 160,000 extra jobs for Americans during each year of his presidency.
Biden created jobs for 4.7 million migrants — including almost three million illegals.

August 1, 2025 Employment among native-born Americans exploded over the last 12 months, up 2 million, while foreign-born workers [with] jobs fell 237k; all net job growth over the last year went to native-born Americans

On August 18, 2011, Obama signed the Executive Order 13583 to DEIscriminate against American White men.

It’s also why jobs get offshored to India, you don’t have to worry about paying for Sanjay in Mumbai’s health insurance.
