I can answer that, for me, sometimes the teacher would mention something not in the book. Also, taking notes helped reinforce the lessons for me. It also kept me focused on what was going on in class.
Check her hands. lol Meanwhile, the king of the cognitively impaired, their great leader, has ear devises, cheat sheets, teleprompters, and lids to get through his shortened day.
Im liking this woman more and more.
I DARE someone ask Harris and Biden the same question!!!
Congrats to Cornyn for giving Barrett a classic mic drop moment
She hasnt even taken any notes so far. The Senate provided notepad is blank. Her answers come from her own knowledge.
You can reassure yourself by doing the research yourself
Many years ago, I was in the Boy Scout organization the Order of the Arrow with Michael McConnell, the renowned legal mind and on George W Bush’s short list for the SCOTUS. We were both teenagers at the time. He was secretary of our lodge, and we had quarterly meetings. It was his duty to read the minutes of the last meeting, and they were remarkably detailed and fluent. And, of course, the paper he was reading them from was blank.
These legal minds can be amazing.
Truly brilliant people like Barrett are really rare. We all probably meet someone of her extreme intelligence once or twice in our lifetimes.
Being first in your class in high school, college, and then law school is really something special.
Take notes in college? Pffffft, I had a history prof who could’ve been a world class auctioneer at a livestock auction. It was impossible to take notes.
It helps to write things down to commit them to memory. You must be blessed with an especially good memory. Most of us arent.
She is brilliant.
Not only in command of the subject matter - the way her thoughts are organized is amazing to behold.
Exactly. That was perfectly orchestrated.

I would have used that notepad to write down the question. Those senators often ask a question and then ramble on for minutes before allowing Barrett to speak. I would have been daydreaming and forgotten the question in that interval.
She’s smarter than all the Dems on that committee combined.
This nominee is the sharpest I’ve ever seen. What a great choice!
