The counties in Texas (with the exception of a few counties outside El Paso were size so residents could ride a horse from any point in the county to the county seat to perform their business and then ride home in a day.
In 2020 one would think that one could get into one’s automobile and drive to the county seat and deposit one’s ballot into the one county ballot box in an hour at most.
