The vast majority of people dont plan on watching NFL games if players kneel, according to a Twitter poll.
The first game of the 2020 season is Thursday night when the Chiefs and Texans play, and theres a good chance we could see players kneel during the national anthem. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)
I asked people in a Twitter poll if theyd tune out in the event of kneeling, and the results werent close at all.
Of the 4,850 voters, 86.7% voted that they would stop watching if players take a knee during the anthem.

Add me to that list of former fans.
The NFL just wont show National Anthem.
New name for SF team should be The SF 40 kneelers.
LOL! Too late. When the packers issue ignorant statements and drew breese wears a tape honoring the name of a now disabled criminal, it’s done. Not watching any of them. For any reason. They can KMA!
Stupidest headline ever from the Daily Caller. Should have read “87% of my Twitter followers won’t watch NFL...”
Was a Dodger baseball fan since I was 6. After the knee nonsense. I quit watching baseball
Don’t care if they kneel or not anymore.
A lot of people will realize that there is life after football (or any professional sports) like I did in 1997.
And I gave up pro baseball because of the strike, decades ago. I do enjoy the occasional minor league game, though. We can watch the Louisville bats for $12, right behind the team dugout, on the shady side.
Not this year, of course.
I guess I will never attend another Super Bowl in my lifetime.NFL dying.
86.7% is a very high number in any poll.
It would be a great help if the pollster would release the cross-tabs and the margin of error.
Well, since they have been kneeling, and since the NFL supports BLM and punished support of cops or Americans, screw the NFL.
I know I won’t be watching another NFL/NBA/MLB game in my lifetime unless the leagues and players come out with a public vow to respect our flag, country, and its laws.
Interestingly I watched a show last night on the Science Channel about the construction of the new SoFI stadium in Los Angeles. Huge, expensive, and they just finished it. Now it’s likely that it will sit mostly empty. Karma.
I have been a Sports fan all of my life, but over the last two years that has been declining. Once upon a time I was a big NBA Fan and rooted for the Old Lakers with Jerry West, Kareem, Magic etc. After the most recent gyrations of players supporting Black Lives Matters and kneeling during the National Anthem etc., they have lost me for good. I wouldn’t walk across the street to see an NBA Game now. I love Football and have been a Big Saint/NFL Fan, but if they go the way of the NBA, they will lose me also. I hope they don’t do it. If they do, the players will be cutting their own throats. Stay tuned!
The NFL has become a racist league by anyone’s standard.
It use to be an escape for the lunch bucket crowd but sadly they politicized it and
now faced with watching this spectacle invade our living rooms and stadiums, the writing is on the wall.
In marketing terms, they just killed their brand.
My advice:
Watch the National Anthem.
If players kneel change the channel.
If players dont kneel enjoy the game.
NO THANKS.
I WON’T BE WATCHING.
I’ll get my politics from somewhere else.
Thats exactly how they will manage it. They will show some BLM slogans though, perhaps even some ass-covering, virtue-signaling pathetic minute-long anti-racism video at the start. Then they will avoid both that and the national anthem rest of the season.
If you were once an NFL fan and have purchased their sports memorabilia in the past, make sure to flood the 2nd hand market with it such as Ebay, Craigslist, etc. Hubs was a RABID football fan. No more. He has given the green light for me to sell the very pricey NFL crap that we have purchased over the years.
That will cut down on their sales of paraphernalia as well.
