The Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia is advising parents not to hire private tutors for their children, claiming it would “widen the gap in educational access” between students who can and those who can’t afford private tutors

“While [the Fairfax County Public School system] doesn’t and can’t control these private tutoring groups, we do have concerns that they may widen the gap in educational access and equity for all students,” the FCPS said in a memo Friday.

The fundamental flaw of Commie thinking: no matter how hard you try, you can’t make everybody equal . . . because they are NOT equal.

At this moment, there are people that are starving in the world. If I understand their reasoning, teachers and administrators of the Fairfax School District are going to starve themselves to death, so that they don’t “widen the gap in food access”. Let’s check.

Apparently public education has devolved into teaching to the lowest common denominator creating boredom for the remaining students.
This philosophy as well as inclusion has turned public education into a very expensive joke.

When the lock down started our local school district delayed the start of on line learning because some students did not have internet access and it would be unfair. Translation - If everyone cant learn then we need to keep everyone stupid.

Since everyone is not a good parent you should not be a good parent either.

Honestly, do these people ever actually listen to what is coming out of their pie holes?

Exactly. They are closing the schools for (some) another year; but, don't let your kid learn anything during that time. I think the real fear is how much the kids learn OUTSIDE a public school classroom, when they are taught by a tutor, or go to a private/religious school.

Those union workers do not want parents to discover how unessential they are.

They are afraid the students will actually learn life supporting skills.

truth!
Who is going to send their kids to pricey schools when online classes have worked out?
they need this to fail- at least until Trump is removed from office.
THEN it will be ok to go back to school.

FCPS has lists of tutors it has kept and given out for years. Tutoring is not new. But the desire to UNeducate all students is now blindingly clear. FCPS likes to style itself one of the top counties for education. It is NOT and it has been getting grossly worse every year.

Homeschool.

“ This literally makes no sense. It’s stupid. It’s idiotic.”

Private tutors improve education access for all children, first for children who get a private tutor, secondly for children who, thanks to their former classmate's private tutor, now have a teacher that can give more attention to fewer students.

Okay, what am I overlooking?

Send "Orange Man Bad" federal and state government desperate Democrats and RINOs home in November!

Supporting PDJT with a new patriot Congress and state government leaders that will promise to fully support his already excellent work for MAGA and stopping SARS-CoV-2 will effectively give fast-working Trump a "third term" in office imo.

That is the point. We don't want our own kids to perform at the level of neglected losers whose parents don't value education or productivity. Our own children might turn into democrats if we did that!

My son was having trouble in 8th Grade Math. Hired a Tudor for a Term. She got him ready for next test, helping in HW etc. He was confident. He took the test got a C+. To for looked at graded test and said your kid’s teacher is an idiot. He has many right answers, he solved them differently than she taught, but he got there. Tudor and I met with teacher, after a lengthy chat he was upgraded to a B+. I CC’d the Principal and the Superintendent and off to Private HS we went. Still infuriated me no end.

Private HS was not much better. Unless you were a jock or Einstein, they had little use for you. At least colleges recognized the HS and said well a C at that place is a B anywhere else, so OK your in.
