representative for Johnson & Johnson told a congressional committee on Tuesday that the company is hopeful a COVID-19 vaccine will be brought to market next year with 100 million doses produced by March.
Dr. Macaya Douoguih, head of Clinical Development and Medical Affairs at Janssen Vaccines of Johnson & Johnson, said she is very much encouraged by the companys pre-clinical results and announced that their first clinical trial is starting this month.
We will be starting our phase three in September. Now, its very difficult to say whether or not we will be lucky enough to have setup our sights in the right places to be able to get an answer and readout on efficacy thats certainly possible. But were targeting to at least have results by early 2021 as well as 100 million doses by the end of March, she said during a hearing by the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations of the Committee on Energy and Commerce.

Why? The election is in November.
I don’t trust them.

Wouldn’t you love to see the DNC email to Johnson and Johnson telling them to shoot for March. They expect the emailed ballots to be counted by March.
And why are these hospital labs and testing sites testing 70%-100% positivity again?
As long as it’s a patented, proprietary cure, we’ll get to hear about it.
With the ones in Florida, what I read was that they didn’t report most or all of their negative tests. So if they conducted 100 tests and 10 came back positive (10% positive), they reported 10 tests, all positive. So the number of positive tests would be right, but the positivity number (which is really important for helping to identify if you have an actual increase in spread vs just a rise in testing) would have been badly skewed.
Plenty of time for the 2020(1) Olympics
I’d be interested in seeing the percentages, not just the hard numbers.
If they test more, then the numbers will of course, go up.
But is the actual percentage of positive cases of those tested actually increasing?
Not to mention that many people are getting tested because they are not feeling well, so the sampling is going to be skewed anyways. Healthy people are not getting tested unless it’s for something like surgery, which mr. mm just had to do.
At the hospital he went to, so many people were canceling because of fears of contracting the virus that they started requiring testing for all patients undergoing surgery.
