From the article:
“The fact-check from Science Feedback/Climate Feedback labeled the video as incorrect, saying: There is no evidence that the global polar bear population is growing. Sea ice loss due to climate change is recognized as the most important threat to the long-term survival of polar bears. :
One of my friends knows an academic who is one of the worlds’s experts on polar bears - she has been practically run out the business and unmercifully harassed for providing evidence of growing polar bear populations. And she has no ax to grind (literally, no bear in this fight).
So those jerks at Facebook pick an advocacy group to dispute Prager’s claims, and try to pretend they’re doing a “fact check”. I truly despise those scum.
Re: reply 6 - from James Delingpole, at “Breitbart”, from 2019:
“A Canadian university has frozen a zoologist out of her adjunct professor post as punishment for saying the unsayable about polar bears: that populations are thriving; that they are not endangered; that stories about how they are being caused to starve by melting summer sea ice are junk science #FakeNews.
“Dr Susan Crockford is one of the worlds leading experts on polar bears and had held her post as Adjunct Professor at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada for 15 years.
“But by speaking the truth about polar bears she fell foul of environmental activists who have long treated Ursus maritimus as one of the poster children for their the Earth is doomed and its all our fault narrative. As a result, without explanation, Crockford was ousted from her position at the university.”
If an opponent wished to counter Prager with opposing facts or opinions on a specific issue, that’d be ok. Why not just publish the opposing data alongside, so viewers could decide for themselves?
But Facebook’s removal tactics clearly reveal an overall bias and desire to harass & discredit Prager incrementally & eventually make it dusappear, when enough people have wearied of fighting.
