I am getting to a point where I walk into a room in the house, and can’t sometimes remember why I came there LOL.
You're not alone. I'll get up to do something, and then get side-tracked doing something else, then will go back and sit down, only to have to pop right back up again to do what I originally got up for. I can go into the bathroom, and think of something I need to do, then go back out into my kitchen and say to myself: "Now what was I going to do?" As we get older, we retain our long term memory, and our short term memory diminishes.
Thank God I live alone, so no one else has to hear me call myself stupid names when I do something dumb. A couple of weeks ago, I made some coffee for myself in my automatic drip coffeemaker. It's a good thing I was out in the kitchen at the time, because I had forgotten to set the pot in its place so the coffee could drip into it. Sure those machines are made so that if you want a cup of coffee while the machine is still brewing, you can pour yourself one without it dripping the coffee all over the place, but the brewing part of those machines will only hold so much liquid, and although I'd only put 5 cups of water into a 12 cup machine, the coffee started pouring out all over the counter because the pot hadn't been there to catch it. What a mess! It was the first time I had ever done that, and it will be the last time, because before I go to bed every night, I make sure the coffee pot is set in the coffee machine for the next day's brew.
