And Biden's efforts to defend himself - or to avoid defending himself by ignoring the allegations - just might end up benefiting Trump.
Of course, things could get to the point where Democrats decide to toss Biden under the train the way they did Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota, but assuming Biden doesn't crack under the pressure (a real possibility), it's hard to see how that happens as long as impeachment remains the defining issue of our politics.
Sure, it's "possible." Biden cracks even without the pressure.
Al Franken could have won the nomination if he ran, sex scandal and all.
He might even have won the general election if it weren't for what he said on SNL in the Seventies:

The most important thing to Bush League Republicans is to complete the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA).
Fundamentally transforming this country has been their life’s work for 30 years.
It has been the biggest bipartisan project and they already have us 30 million people down that road.
President Trump is a threat to disrupt, stop or even reverse that fundamental transformation they have worked so hard to make us accept as inevitable.
We weren’t supposed to be able to elect anyone as President who would side with the citizens and the rule of law.
FNC just reported that Bernie outraised Biden for the last quarter by 25 million to 15 million. Nevertheless, Biden still thinks he’s going to be nominee. Fat chance Joe, especially after you lose in IA, NH, and CA.

Didn’t actually know Jonah; we just lived a few blocks apart at one time.
He didn’t argue much on Twitter. He just couldn’t handle the (legit) criticism.
So many people that I thought were rock solid Conservatives in the 90s turned out to be some of the biggest frauds in American history. Jonah is one of them.
Never Trumpers are insatiable with their need to prove President Trump isn’t a good US President.

The entire anti-Trump cadre has long taken anyhting that’s true for our side and then flipped it as either a meme or an article. Ex:”Lock him up” and calling conservatives ‘snowflake’. This goes along with general projection where we are all accused of what they have already done.
This article is to counter the fact that impeaching Trump will guarantee a Trump landslide in 2020.
