Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called her own party's failure to impeach President Donald Trump a 'national scandal.'
The freshman Congresswoman from New York made the remarks in a tweet late on Saturday, ratcheting up pressure on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to allow impeachment to move forward.
'At this point, the bigger national scandal isn't the president's lawbreaking behavior - it is the Democratic Party's refusal to impeach him for it,' she wrote.
Ocasio-Cortez's forceful remarks join the growing clamor from some Democrats demanding that party leaders impeach the president, with the intelligence community whistleblower controversy fueling fresh outrage.
In the latest controversy, Democrats accuse Trump of asking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy for dirt on Joe Biden, related to an investigation into a Ukrainian company that Biden's son served on the board of while his father was vice president.

She’s a frightening glimpse of what depths of derangement are possible in the human mind, and the limitless pit of corruption achievable in the human soul. Of course I hate her and everything she stands for, but I also see her like the girl in The Exorcist, head spinning round, vomit flying from her mouth, devil smirking out from the inside the remains of her putrid flesh.
She already has one Democratic and seven Republican challengers. Even her Democrat challenger is calling her out for her socialism and miserable constituent services. Her 15 minutes of infamy won’t last much longer.
Where did she bartend at? Maybe her employer was overjoyed, to see her become a congressman, so he doesn’t have to worry about her screwing up the bar any longer. 👎
And yet her vacuous grasp of the world, twisted demeanor in relating her ideas, and untethered flight from critical thinking are a damning reflection of the vaunted education system that produced her. So long as society at large tolerates and supports these institutional obscenities, we’ll see millions more of these damaged, bleeding, and irony impaired youth.

Seems like she’s the ‘national scandal.’ Scandalous that someone as anti-American and she and the rest of her snark squad can be elevated to a position of power.
