In some ways, it feels like the left in America has been here before.
Shortly before the 2004 election, previously inactive liberals were being energized into the electoral process to prevent George W Bush’s re-election, which they believed would fundamentally undermine American democratic norms.
In Derry, New Hampshire, I met Pam and Patrick Devaney, a shy couple who felt compelled to canvass for Democratic nominee John Kerry. “I’m not comfortable doing this but it has to be done,” said Pam. “Our democracy is at stake. This is the most important election in my lifetime.” Patrick added: “I always thought someone else was out there doing the job for us. Now I wonder what we’re doing.”
This was essentially defensive. Working to make sure a bad situation did not get worse. That year I drove over 2,000 miles from Kerry’s home in Boston to Bush’s former home in Midland, Texas, and met a lot of people like Pam and Patrick, who were drawn into the process for the first time. But I never met a single person who was enthusiastic about John Kerry. They just wanted to get rid of Bush.

Curious. I don’t really have a problem with “change the world.” It’s the “for the better” part they consistently leave out that bothers me.
Cultural Marxism has given us Class 8.5 Stupid on the Left.
Class 9 Stupid could threaten life in a proverbial United Federation of Planets.
Class 10 Stupid all life everywhere, maybe even existence itself.
So, yeah, they’ve basically maxed out on how Stupid human beings even have the capacity to be at this point.

Little did they know that Bush was importing the next generation of Democrat voters and setting the stage for the Kenyanesian Usurpation.
They believe that everybody has a right to their own opinion, only as long as it’s the same as theirs.
They also strenuously deny that they’re fascists so much that they’ll use all fascist means to prove it.
I can’t disagree.
But I still think the maximum stupidity comes from those who’ve controlled and commanded the Marxist leaders.
If you check at least from the time of Woodrow Wilson.
Here’s how I see the relationship: the original Frankfurt School that spawned Cultural Marxism were not themselves what they created because they wanted Useful Idiots who would be incapable of sustaining a civilization and who’d be the dry rot in the nation to benefit their Soviet masters. Which is to say I don’t think they believed all the bads they were selling so much as they wanted to efficiently create ruin in the West and brainwashing people who might otherwise have been productive and useful to do that, especially once they start replicating themselves, is a very efficient way to do that.
Yes, socialism is itself foolish and stupid, but the evil that is behind it is not necessarily as functionally dumb as those who are it’s sheep led to slaughter.
Simply, the old Soviet Union would never have tolerated Cultural Marxism, and had they ever taken over the West those the Frankfurt School shat out into society would have been among the first into the gulags, if not into mass graves.
Change the world to one big borderless sh*thole punctuated by the fortified estates of the elites.
I see what you’re saying.
I would point out that they might not have believed all the details of cultural Marxism, but they sure as hell believed in their ultimate purpose. As did whoever might have been their executives.
And what I’m saying is their ultimate purpose—that of the evil behind socialism—is the stupidest of all stupidities.
If only there was a single good democrat...
There hasn’t been one since Harry S Truman, and I believe he would have joined the Republicans if he could see where Dimms are trying to take this country know.
