President Trump's campaign has reportedly spent almost $500,000 on Facebook ads in Texas this year, raising questions about whether his team is concerned the normally deep-red state could flip.
The Texas Tribune reported Friday that the Trump campaign spent $481,900 on the social media ads directed at Texans between Jan. 5 and Aug. 3, citing data from Bully Pulpit Interactive, a Democratic firm that monitors digital ad spending.
When we think about digital ads, we think about it in terms of, Is [Trump] using them to engage and excite his existing supporters, or is he using it to reach out and persuade new supporters? Bully Pulpit senior director of research and data Daniel Scarvalone told the Texas Tribune.
The Hill, using Bully Pulpit's interactive tool, found that Trump spent $500,523 on Facebook ads targeting registered voters in Texas between March 24 and Aug. 10. The campaign spent more on Texas ads during that period than it did in Florida, California, Ohio or Pennsylvania.

If Texas flips it will because of illegals voting and young folks swallowing that crap about all the free stuff the Democrats are promising to give them.
Heading off discussion of the possibility?
Let’s hope he’s hitting that demographic.
He has to offset the massive influx of lib refugees from high-tax states.
omg Texas is NOT going to flip! I am SOOOOO freaking tired of hearing this!
And all because of silly BETO !
BETO first of all LOST! and 2nd.. would of gotten CRUSHED by anyone other than Cruz, because many Texas conservatives were/are still mad at how Cruz acted during the presidential primary.
This special case match-up gave cover to the LIE that Texas is now in play, when that is NOT the case.
There are 14 million registered voters in Texas, making a half a million dollar investment in Facebook ads a great investment.
It’s called, running up the score on the Democrats.
Trump’s ONLY opponent is VOTER FRAUD from ALL sources.
To date, I have not seen any significant attempt to get that under control.
DNC/CPUSA will stop at nothing to complete their overthrow of our Constitutional Republic.
The MSM has put a total blackout on Trump’s successes during his presidency. They are going to force him to spend money to get his own word out... even in his safe spaces.
Ping.
$500,523.00?
That’s it?
That’s the basis of this article?
Abbott won the governors race by almost 14%.
Abbott voters are Trump voters.
.
Wait, some fool name Beto ran for senate against Ted Cruz who disgraced himself on the national scale at the RNC convention. Beto got within 4 points of Teddy. Teddy is no Trump, it isn’t even go to be that close, I would surprised whomever is the designated loser on the DNC side gets within 10 points of Trump in Texas.
I know some people who claimed voted for Hillary who are now Trump supporters, however, I know nobody who voted Trump who wants to vote for anyone else in 2020. The media can’t find them either.
“The campaign spent more on Texas ads during that period than it did in Florida, California, Ohio or Pennsylvania.”
Texas is a lot bigger than any of those other states.
Secure our bases and then attack the enemy’s weaknesses. Our man Trump is no dummy.
I agree. If a lot more Texas voters had voted for Trump the last time, then there would not be all this crap talk of Hillary winning the popular vote.
Everyone is trying to base it on the close election between Cruz and ODork, but in that same election last November Governor Abbott was re-elected by over a million votes and more than a ten percent margin of victory.
In a headline today, the NYT uses the word “frets” as though President Trump would be caught “fretting” about anything.
Now, he is worrying about losing Texas.
Some people fantasize about marrying a Prince or owning a 68 Mustang. The laughable HILL, the New York Times, and the rest of the Fake News dreams about POTUS fretting and worrying. I haven’t seen this man coming close to showing those cares.
Grow Up, MSM. He is stronger than all of you.
2016 =>
Trump - 52.23%
Clinton - 43.24%
Beto outspent Cruz 9:1 and still lost
