This week’s Democratic debates didn’t offer many hints about who will be the face of the party next year. In fact, they highlighted how far the Democrats are from deciding what their pitch will be to voters and who will make it.
On the Republican side, however, it was clear at President Trump’s campaign rally Thursday night in Cincinnati, that the general election is already underway.
I hadn’t been to a Trump rally since 2016 — right before he won the South Carolina primary and long before he had the nomination wrapped up. Back then, voters were drawn to Trump’s message with the hope that he could deliver for them.
On Thursday night, I arrived at the arena with lines snaking around the block full of adoring supporters who say they trust President Trump completely — and are already energized to re-elect him.
Dolores Scardine and Barbara Bergdall saw our microphones and came right over.
“We love Trump!” they shouted in unison.

Unless the nation turns to crap in the next 15 months I believe Trump is a shoo in. I will be happy to see those blue states that passed laws giving there electoral votes to the national popular vote winner give their electoral votes to Trump. I anticipate enjoying severe Schadenfreude.
Never take for granite that Trump is a shoo in for reelection . Do not stay home from the polls thinking everybody else has you covered . Get out and cast your vote for him any way you can .
You can tell this reporter was disgusted to even walk into the place. Too bad that he sees everything in terms of race.
If you didn’t see it I put my caveat up front. “...Unless the nation turns to crap in the next 15 months”. I stick with that. Had the first gulf war had happened in middle 92 instead of early 91 Bush senior would have had 2 terms.
I never stay home on Election Day.
He should always be 5 minutes away from any twitter device.
Those laws are really going to bring out the Trump voters.

I’m supposed to react ‘ooh he’s open minded and generous. So smart. I know he means ‘all’.
Makes the reader feel open minded.
They’re “immature” Oh. Ok. I know what that means. They don’t think. They’re an emotional mob.
‘They’re not like me. I can think. I can go one level in and figure that out. I’m smart. These people are not.’

I think like you do now. These people are a bunch of racist, FOX news robotic, conspiracist, red-t shirt-wearing idiots. They hate me and ‘people of color as much as I hate them- which I do, now, thanks to your enlightening report.

We all need to go out and campaign for President Trump as if he is 40 points behind...The Dems will try to steal the election, and we need to fight for our republic!!
